Vaguely disconcerted that the closest things I can bring to mind are the Avalanches & uh, Selwyn. Anything of interest going on? (re: non-US English-language hip-hop, the UK & NZ are pretty interesting right now . . .)

1200 Techniques might be up your alley. Minna and Tim will probably have a much better idea than me though.

Hilltop Hoods
Downsyde
Koolism
Terminal Illness

Tho it might be better to grab a compilation and then decide what you like, Culture Of Kings 2 and Obesecity are both really good.

Its quite a good little scene in fact, although pretty dominated by backpacker styles. And though its not often non-English (exceptions: some of Shin-ki-Row and the wonderful but more than insane Curs ov Dialect) the accents are often decidedly aussie.

Bumblebeez?

Worth checking out, if you can find anything.

Lately I've been hearing some good unreleased Aussie hip hop. The raps are in order on most of these, not trying to imitate US and/or Jamaican accents any more. Delivery and backing tracks are sort of laconic, with bizarre deadpan lyrics, as you'd expect.

I had to review this ep by this guy called Raph or The Raph or something and I was expecting the worst, but it was in fact really good in a mutant UK hip hop + Ozzie vocals stylee.
