i mean, I'm as sick of Ja as the next, but really, this whole backlash he's getting is a bit over the top, and especially hypocritical coming from other pop rappers who pull a lot of the same shit. it's not like getting rid of Murder Inc. will end the popularity of sing-song boy/girl r&b/rap crossovers.

"Hail Mary" has been getting a lot of airplay around here lately, more than any dis track in memory (except maybe "Ether")...it's compelling in a car-wreck kinda way, all the accusations and insults. one of the first times i've ever been impressed by a 50 verse, and it's weird to hear Busta getting all nasty and mad for a sec.

i haven't heard any of the Ja's dis tracks, which, unsurprisingly, aren't getting nearly as much play on the radio as 50's disses...even DJ's are clowning on Ja these days, apparently a lot of pent up aggression from having to listen to him yell on their station every day for the past 3 years. 50 is this year's model, so everyone's behind him. it's very clear who's going to come out on top of this. i can see this getting pretty ugly...prolly not Pac/Big ugly, but maybe a serious Vanilla Ice type career death for Ja.

i like 50's mixtape flow better than the slow, deliberate stuff on get rich. that's one thing. and it was cool to hear busta saying mean things to someone. :;;;;;;;;

what are the names of the ja rule tracks? i just know he said something about hailey and eminem got madder.

but mainly i'm reviving to see if anyone else has heard the new dis track from the ja rule camp, which tells the whole damn "snitch" story and I think cuts 50 real hard.

the real part makes it a bit sad because it shouldn't be real anymore. they should just be joking but it's true. they're very rich and they don't have to attack each other.

but 50 cent vs. ja rule is just silly. you could make a joke saying thing about another lots-of-records-selling person recording a track against another lots-of-records person. While 50 ain't got no one to worry about he's his own man he got guns everywhere a bomb proof car homie knows he's a target, but he's smart he's ready for what ever comes 50 admits he's got a lot of enemies. I give it to 50 he completely shut Ja out he did da job. 50 is a smart cat he knew he needed to get attention came out with how to rob ragged on about everybody ppl remembered his name and then got shot which made him glorify gangsta rap to da fullest and den came at Ja who was da biggest artist at da time, which was genius of 50. But Y'all gotta remember this though Ja is partners with probably the most feared man in hip hop and I ain't talking about fat ass Irv Gotti...lol...but Suge Knight in da west coast he's still holding it down. I doubt 50 will do anything deadly to Ja cuz why would someone kill there rival just stupid 50 need Ja to feed, but if there was ever a true fist fight 50 would whoop his ass.

One of the best dis tracks ever...The Bridge is Over by BDP actually does sound like a nursery rhyme - that's the best part (esp. the Billy Joel-biting parts)

The more I think about it (& I think about it rather a lot), the more this post is my favorite in the history of ILM.

Pro: - Beats from Dre (reason he is polular)
- support from other famous rappers, because he's popular at the moment

Cons: - has no flow
- sounds like he's gonna fall asleep
- keeps talking about getting shot 9 times

Ja Rule:
pro: - became famous be himself
- makes agressive aswell as r&b like songs

cons: - sounds a bit soft sometimes
- Lost some credibility after beef with 50 cent
- is in a beef with to many rappers

If you just look at 50, you see that he didn't do anything himself. He got with Dre, a garanty for becoming popular. He got shot and gets credibility (I don't understand that actually. When 50 wasn't there and Ja released 3:36 everybody loved him and now all of the sudden evrybody wants to diss him..... What's that? And don't start about 50's songs. They have great beats (Dre, of course) but don't say that In Da Club has great raps. Man, my grandma could rap that song!

Sorry for al the 50 lovers here, but I just can't stand the bitch

50Cent is no Tupac. Tupac didn't brag nearly as much...and when he did brag, he had so much more credibility...it was believable.

50Cent raps like he's trying to convince everyone listening that he's 'all that'. Tupac could show you he was the shit, without having to say "I am the shit".

^^^^Since posting/browsing this website I actually agree with everything Alex in NYC says in this thread. And this "beef" is why I stopped listening to hip hop from 2005-2010.

However, I'm listening to a greatest hits of Ja Rule after a decade of avoiding everything he put out. As a pop rap artist, Ja Rule is alright. I forgot he was first part of the gritty Def Jam thing before Irv Gotti and Ashanti came into the picture. Part of me wish he stayed "grimy." He, Jay-Z and DMX always made good collaborations together.

As for 50 Cent, it's too bad he is resorted to bitching to deported rappers like Shyne to keep his "credibility" in hip hop.
