As far as I know 50 starts the beef going after Ja Rule for tryina be him (apparently provoked by the Murder crew's baiting him for taking out a protection order against them and snitching, in turn provoked by his mainly *unprovoked* disses at Ja Rule on his mixtapes in turn sorta provoked by the incident which got him shot). Ja shoots back and straight murders that shit like he's eastwood in unforgiven or something -- like solid, hard, and dead fucking serious. Em comes in and lays the disses but tries to cool things out on the Hail Mary remix with 50 cent on that track too. Apparently all the Em disses & more are gonna be on the Conspiracy Theory mixtape. Meanwhile there's also UGK's Z-Ro heading up *another* 50 cent dis. on the snitch theme with Scarface in tow.
Anyone have any thoughts on this in particular? Like 50s disses really bore me -- the man puts quantity way ahead of quality which is cool for flooding the market but weak for actually taking a guy on -- Ja obviously *doesn't* want to be 50 and he *hasn't* been serious about the pac mantle in that way for years. So Em and 50 prove they can bite Pac's flow better than Ja -- who fucking cares, Ja's doing his own thing now he "sings and blings" anyway. Em's is lyrically the tightest, naturally, but he doesn't have much to bring either except for all the clever "me and my daughter like to sing to your songs" concessions he makes.
Ja meanwhile just brings it straight and hard and crosses a few lines along the way but hey, he just got dragged back into beefing which he's been saying is behind him, so he crosses those lines right back. Like "I'm doing my own thing, but you want me to play by street standards I'll fucking murder you", y'know?

"
Not everyone in the music industry took 50 Cent's jibes so lightly. On the heels of "How To Rob...," he released "Ghetto Qor'ran," a track that recounts stories about notorious New York hustlers. Several well-publicized incidents have taken place between 50 Cent and fellow Queens resident Ja Rule, including a scuffle between the two MCs in an Atlanta party for Ja Rule and an alleged stabbing incident at New York's Hit Factory recording studio."
i.e. there's an implied connection but no real answer.

i mean, I'm as sick of Ja as the next, but really, this whole backlash he's getting is a bit over the top, and especially hypocritical coming from other pop rappers who pull a lot of the same shit. it's not like getting rid of Murder Inc. will end the popularity of sing-song boy/girl r&b/rap crossovers.
"Hail Mary" has been getting a lot of airplay around here lately, more than any dis track in memory (except maybe "Ether")...it's compelling in a car-wreck kinda way, all the accusations and insults. one of the first times i've ever been impressed by a 50 verse, and it's weird to hear Busta getting all nasty and mad for a sec.

i haven't heard any of the Ja's dis tracks, which, unsurprisingly, aren't getting nearly as much play on the radio as 50's disses...even DJ's are clowning on Ja these days, apparently a lot of pent up aggression from having to listen to him yell on their station every day for the past 3 years. 50 is this year's model, so everyone's behind him. it's very clear who's going to come out on top of this. i can see this getting pretty ugly...prolly not Pac/Big ugly, but maybe a serious Vanilla Ice type career death for Ja.

what are the names of the ja rule tracks? i just know he said something about hailey and eminem got madder.

the real part makes it a bit sad because it shouldn't be real anymore. they should just be joking but it's true. they're very rich and they don't have to attack each other.
i like benzino vs. eminem because it was kind of about something.
but 50 cent vs. ja rule is just silly. you could make a joke saying thing about another lots-of-records-selling person recording a track against another lots-of-records person. ('IT'S LIKE FLEETWOOD MAC RECORDING A CELINE DION DISS!!!!!!!!!!! THEY R BOTH JUST POP GAYS WHO SING WIT GURLZ!!!!!!!!! JA RULE IS A 100% QUEER AND 50 CENT IS GAY!!!!!' but it's a bit more than that. because it's real. but it shouldn't be real! so, i don't know.

HAHAHA You people are funny. When da hell did he wear a noise ring and when did he sound like pac he sounds more like DMX than anything, but thats what happens when u smoke 2 packs of newports a day. You guys have no idea what's the word on Jamaica, Queens. All these katz come from da same area. Everyone saying that Ja a bitch and all dat shit yea sings with Ashanti on some lame ass tracks, but hit da streetz and he'll let you know whats up he still comes through. Ja and 50 will scrap at anything. Now 50 on da street he's a fuckin gangsta he's scared of no man; while Ja and Jay-Z were selling Coke and Crack..50 was selling guns and drugs out of his car. 50 is scared of no man, but then who should be scared when a nigga been shot 9 times...homie thinks he's an invincible, but wasn't so invincible when Blackchild stabbed him in da studio. They don't like each other its obvious. Ja wanted to squash da beef which was completely stupid cuz it made his ass look like a bitch, but u gota feel where he coming from homie is becoming a family man he's got kids. While 50 ain't got no one to worry about he's his own man he got guns everywhere a bomb proof car homie knows he's a target, but he's smart he's ready for what ever comes 50 admits he's got a lot of enemies. I give it to 50 he completely shut Ja out he did da job. 50 is a smart cat he knew he needed to get attention came out with how to rob ragged on about everybody ppl remembered his name and then got shot which made him glorify gangsta rap to da fullest and den came at Ja who was da biggest artist at da time, which was genius of 50. But Y'all gotta remember this though Ja is partners with probably the most feared man in hip hop and I ain't talking about fat ass Irv Gotti...lol...but Suge Knight in da west coast he's still holding it down. I doubt 50 will do anything deadly to Ja cuz why would someone kill there rival just stupid 50 need Ja to feed, but if there was ever a true fist fight 50 would whoop his ass.

Pro: - Beats from Dre (reason he is polular) - support from other famous rappers, because he's popular at the moment
Cons: - has no flow - sounds like he's gonna fall asleep - keeps talking about getting shot 9 times
Ja Rule:pro: - became famous be himself - makes agressive aswell as r&b like songs
cons: - sounds a bit soft sometimes - Lost some credibility after beef with 50 cent - is in a beef with to many rappers
If you just look at 50, you see that he didn't do anything himself. He got with Dre, a garanty for becoming popular. He got shot and gets credibility (I don't understand that actually. When 50 wasn't there and Ja released 3:36 everybody loved him and now all of the sudden evrybody wants to diss him..... What's that? And don't start about 50's songs. They have great beats (Dre, of course) but don't say that In Da Club has great raps. Man, my grandma could rap that song!
Sorry for al the 50 lovers here, but I just can't stand the bitch

50Cent is no Tupac. Tupac didn't brag nearly as much...and when he did brag, he had so much more credibility...it was believable.
50Cent raps like he's trying to convince everyone listening that he's 'all that'. Tupac could show you he was the shit, without having to say "I am the shit".
Just my opinion of course.

^^^^Since posting/browsing this website I actually agree with everything Alex in NYC says in this thread. And this "beef" is why I stopped listening to hip hop from 2005-2010.
However, I'm listening to a greatest hits of Ja Rule after a decade of avoiding everything he put out. As a pop rap artist, Ja Rule is alright. I forgot he was first part of the gritty Def Jam thing before Irv Gotti and Ashanti came into the picture. Part of me wish he stayed "grimy." He, Jay-Z and DMX always made good collaborations together.
As for 50 Cent, it's too bad he is resorted to bitching to deported rappers like Shyne to keep his "credibility" in hip hop.
