Whirlwind Heat C or D?

Just picked up the debut "Do Rabbits Wonder?" from Whirlwind Heat. Despite the silly title and Jack White connections this is no nu-garage revitalist band but a blistering, updated version of No Wave and post-punk as played by a trio of guys barely out of their teens. Sort of reminds me of DNA trying to play the Sonics. Anyone else hear and like them as much as I do?

love them live, they are mischievous and chaotic rascals... the three songs i've heard from the album don't do much for me though...

Yeah, great live band. The lead singers dancing and high kicks were the stuff that dreams are made of, and the use of moog was great. Very funky as well.

Anything that is born out of Grand Rapids frightens me. and to think that I may have served them coffee in their formative years...

three weeks pass...
i'd be very interested to see them live, definitely. the "jack white" thing was the only thing that turned me off about picking up this album after listening to it a bit. but that's a bit unfair---there are of course myriad other releases which have been done by fine bands wherein someone more "of the moment" has produced them. unfair to hold it against them. :)

it grows on me with every listen. this also might have to do with my mood, but it's fun. and abrupt. am enjoying muchly; am not one for the idea of the "scene," but. :)

With all the live accolades I'm seeing here, they must have gotten MUCH better than when they opened for the White Stripes a year ago in East Lansing...that "performance" by WH offered up whole new worlds of inept third-rate noise. I have a promo of the cd, but I need the memories of the live show to subside before I can give it a fair listen.
