Pink Floy video

A few weeks back, I caught part of a Pink Floyd video on VH1 Classic, but I have no clue what song or album to look for. It was very late-60s in style - just the band playing on a stage all psyched out.

Any idea? Are there videos of anything off of Pipers at the Gates of Dawn?

Probably "Interstellar Overdrive" (was it an intrumental?). It's the only Barrett-era Floyd I've seen live footage of them performing, but I'm not sure if that was from a promotional film or taken from Tonite Let's All Make Love in London (which I've never seen).

most likely "astronomy domine," i would think...they've been showing that occasionally since the collection came out, though when they did a 48 hours of pink floyd special they did show 'interstellar overdrive' a few times.

There's a video of "Interstellar Overdrive" floating around out there that's excerpted from the Tonight Let's All Make Love In London movie, but there's also a French TV clip of "Let There Be More Light" that's showing up (and kinda psychy).

Is Syd in it?

There's another clip floating around from a stateside TV appearance ("bandstand" maybe?) wherein the band is lipsyncing their song with Roger on vox. Syd was just standing there staring into the camera, not playing his guitar or anything.

Geez, which song was that? "Apples and Oranges" maybe? It's certainly one of the early singles. I'm pretty sure it was on Bandstand (which has had its share of unexpected performances.)

Yeah, watching Syd attempt to torpedo his own career...disturbing.

But i'm pretty sure that whole debacle of a tour happened after _Piper_ and before work commenced on _Saucerful._

To be honest, I couldn't identify any of the band members, this was the first PF I've heard that I liked. I'll download some of the mentioned songs - the only one I can rule out is the instrumental.

Rule it out as the answer, but download it anyway!
