And surely Lords of Acid take the crown here. They've got it all: they sound like 2 Unlimited on their first album, only a lot more debauched. The male vocalist sounds like Goldmember. And Jade 4U is brilliantly ridiculous with her quasi operatic, super-diva vocals. And those LYRICS! Mate! "I love myself, I'm beautiful, I want to touch myself.." Genius, not scenius. When Jade 4U laughs she sounds like she's just taken your soul and eaten it.

That first Lords of Acid album rules. The first three tracks are pretty good, but from track 4 onwards it's one of the best albums ever recorded.

i just started a shamen thread before i notice all this. the whole era needs to be properly delineated.

also, someone needs to recommend a good source of quality happy hardcore. if the ramones were alive today, they'd be wearing stolen workmen's jackets and sleeping in motorway service stations.
