I'm still trying to figure out the three tracks in the middle of 'El Loco'. "Leila" sounds like a cross between the Eagles and Icehouse. "Don't Tease Me" has a terrifically out-of-place vocal chorus by Dusty, but maybe instead of being 'out-of-place' it could be described as, I dunno, 'ethnic'. Like some of the vibe that early Mothers of Invention had when they had all the cholos, just that little bit more garish and overdone than industry standard whitebread. Anybody know enough about Mexican pop to comment? All I know is "Wasted Days and Wasted Nights". (Re Mothers, actually alot of 'El Loco' sounds a bit like 'Zoot Allures' doesn't it? The sonics mainly although FZ stuff gets remastered every three weeks so probably nobody knows what I'm talkin''bout)

I find their 70s "down to earth" material generally overrated. They were fun in the mid 80s, though, when they combined straight rock'n'roll with typical 80s synth drums.

Aside from their furry guitars, muscular car (1933 steel 3 window coupe, called the Eliminator, god I'm lane for knowing that) and shitty videos that dominated MTV for at least a freakin year the mid 80's were a low point for ZZ to me. Billy Gibbons actually played some pretty hot guitar in the 70's. Lisen to Tres Hombres and you might agree.
