I just saw Geir's post on the Velvet Underground thread, and he mentions "Femme Fatale" as one of their best, which I agree with, because that song is by far the one that sounds best when your band plays it at double speed with marshall stacks and has a nasal guy sing it of any of their stuff. i dont hate Geir, sometimes i even agree with him. i would say its a shame he can't appreciate the contributions made by and within hip hop (esp. Public Enemy and De La Soul) and dance/electronic music in general, plus a plethora of artists from the soul, funk and modernised r&b spectrum - at least for the purposes of steering ILM away from mere biased 'that sucks, this rules' tedium...but i suppose he would just say the same about me failing to care about/appreciate Genesis, Neil Finn and Travis more. we should all agree to disagree in this respect and move on cos its never gonna get anywhere either way.
