Should I miss Komeda?

Haven't heard a peep since the "Powerpuff Girls" soundtrack...and I miss them like they were some band that put out two English-language records that I loved. Should I miss them so?

I kinda miss them. Out of all the Stereolab clones, I liked them the best. (Well, second best, perhaps. I may like Broadcast better.)

I thought this was going to be about the brilliant polish jazz composer kristoph komeda...he of rosemary's baby fame, etc.

ten months pass...

they supported Beck back when he brought out Odelay if i remember. They were good. a bit influenced by Krstof Komeda too.

um, they did release an album last year called 'kokomemedada'.
its really good, but only available in sweden. grrr.

The North American release of Kokomemedada will also feature a bonus track not available on the swedish version.

seven months pass...

I got KoKoMeMeDaDa today, used, but it's on Universal Canada, with copies prominently displayed in stores. It's been avaliable a couple months, I think, and sufficiently dispersed that there were two other copies in the bin I was looking through at Zulu.

Never heard the band before, but had seen them listed among Club 8, Acid House Kings, Cardigans, etc. and felt like taking a chance. I like the album; it's not a watershed, but definitely lovely pop. Acid House Kings' "Mondays are like Tuesdays" is still my favourite swede pop album, though I can't find a damn copy anywhere. It was on A Hidden Agenda, I thought?
