the Lightning Bolt track "Hello Morning" doesn't get off the ground on purpose untill the next track "Assassins" kicks it off the ground.

lots of Spiritualized songs that you think are gonna be great and keep lifting you to a higher level via volume and bombast and they start out so cool and then they just keep going and going and going and they don't take you anywhere and you wish you had some non-boring drugs to take to listen to the boring drug music.

Radiohead "Just"

You are completely high and summarily delusional.

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Monday, 28 April 2003 11:21 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh, `cos they're lying down in the video? That's the "joke"?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 28 April 2003 11:22 (twenty-three years ago)

If I knew any Pearl Jam songs, I'd have a few to nominate...

I agree on the Flaming Lips "whole LP" comment. Just wavering, never flying. I suggest a huge gravity bong hit (sort of kidding) and headphones playing "Hit to Death in the Future Head."

Metallica: Until It Sleeps
Christina Aguilera: Beautiful (the house remix)

cardigans' new stuff.
most of republic by new order.
much of emancipation era prince.
any bootlegs that use grange hill as the backdrop.
the instrumental soundtracks of most major american
'motion pictures'.
every feeder track i ever heard.
baby's got a temper by the prodigy.

The video for "Just" is great, it's a shame it's got Radiohead in it.

The White Stripes, "Ball and Biscuit". And it takes something like 45 minutes to go nowhere to boot!

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 28 April 2003 16:14 (twenty-three years ago)

The whole progressive genre (it doesn't even know what it wants to be called, progressive trance or progressive house). An 8 minute intro, seamlessly mixed into a 10 minute intro, frustratingly slowly mixed into another 8 minute intro...

"November Rain" would own this list except for the last little bit, which gets off epically.
