Ala gabba/amp or blogs like fluxblog which link to new and/or old interesting tracks that the authors of the sites have found interested.

Hey. Thanks for reading my blog.

Some of the blogs that I have in my links section have rotating weekly mp3s, most notably The Rub, Freezing To Death In The Nuclear Bunker, Do You Feel Loved?, Papercities, and Chromewaves.

I've just started doing the daily mp3-post thing on my blog, said the gramophone. you are welcome to come by!

Gramophone and Fluxblog are grebt, and I'll have to start checking these others. Any other blogs/sites to check regularly?

Have any of them been hassled by The Man? I was thinking about doing this semi-regularly with my server space, but don't want to, you know, get sued.

I've never been hassled by the man, and I'm very grateful about that. I've been doing the mp3 thing on Fluxblog for about a year and a half or so now, and the Mac server people have never complained (well, not to my knowledge - it's in someone else's name, but I'm sure he would have told me) and no one has ever sent me a cease and desist letter asking me to take something down. I have heard from some of the smaller/more obscure artists who found the site and thanked me for the extra exposure, and a few small labels have sent me some free cds. So there.

Inspired directly by Matthew's great site, I run www.mysticalbeast.blogspot.com, and have yet to be hassled by aol, where I store my files. I only keep them up for seven days, so by the time anyone complained, they'd probably be gone anyway. Time will tell...

It looks like Oliver Wang has a really nice one over at: http://www.o-dub.com/crates/weblog/blogger.html

I really like the Kill Bill remix of Nas' Made you look, but that is cause I'm a geek.

If you check in my sidebar, I have over 125 corporate/private musicblogs; most of them with at least weekly updates. That oughtta keep you busy.

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Friday, 16 April 2004 14:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Glad this was bumped, as I've been meaning to ask about this lark for a while now.

I'd very much like to dip my toes into mp3 blogging, but as above I'm a little concerned about the possibility of having to start dressing in black and jogging in the dark for fear of being shot at by a crack team of recording industry goons... I remember reading mention of a cease-and-decist letter quite recently on (I think) either fluxblog or said the gramaphone; are these becoming more prevalent now? Are they likely to?

Legal/moral issues notwithstanding, does anyone have any tips for file storage? I don't really fancy shelling out for .mac, and would feel a bit skittish about hosting mp3s on a proper (paid-for) hosting account anyway.. I notice spymac.com seems to offer a lot of free space, but the T&Cs obviously prohibit this sort of thing. Should I pay attention?

God, this question was far more long-winded than it needed to be, wasn't it?

Tyrone Shoelaces, from someone who reads ILM (not sure who), is a great MP3 blog. I found it looking for Justus Kohncke's "Hot Love" remix but wow, it's all great.

Laces is great! Everyone should read that site, with or without the mp3s.

I've worked out who it is now.

N. (nickdastoor), Sunday, 13 June 2004 22:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, and everyone who hasn't already should have a listen to The Flirts - 'Calling All Boys (remix)' on Bang and Burn right now.
