I got an lp of theirs for 50 cents. Seems a bit pricey after a listen.

I only know them sporadically, as it were, but I love "Creeping Towards the Cross." I admit I'd rather listen to the Undertones, though.

Aw no fair...allright all of their albums 'cept "Chemicrazy" are crap. "Chemicrazy" is pretty fine indie pogo-pop. "Sweet Shiver Burn" is a gorgeous tune as well.

Never liked That Petrol Emotion. Gary Crowley would enthuse on GLR and I'd think, "erm, no". The Undertones were more than the sum of their parts to a greater extent than any other band I know, because Feargal Sharkey on his own wasn't much cop, was he?

Guess I must be the only person who thinks Manic Pop Thrill was one of the best albums of the eighties. (Especially good in extended cd reissue form).

Well, there is one in every crowd, so I must step in to be that one... I recently began replying everything from them... MANIC POP THRILL is still brilliant... some people had to wait until Nirvana to get some cool rawking album... but it was there from the time this album came out. The much liked second album is my least favorite... but the Petrols are sorely missed by this old guy.

two years pass...
damn you lot are harsh. i dug out Chemicrazy yesterday for first time in ages and fell in love with this lp once again. quality mixture of guitars and excellent songs. but i now realise i am wrong in my judgement. oh well, nothing new there ..

"Cellophane" is a classic "Where the hell is pop music off to anyway?" moment in UK history.

But- the singles "It's a Good Thing" and "Dance Your Ass Off" (Hilariously playlisted on daytime Radio 1 by Simon Bates as "Dance"!!!!!) are jolly good tho!!!!
