Before, The Vines have been doing some of the same stuff, and hopefully it is Vines and Hot Hot Heat rather than The Strokes and White Stripes that will define the following years' rock music.

hey d!390, I don't think you actually stuck around long enough on Saturday to see people dance to "What A Fool Believes" by the Doobie Brothers. The moment was "magical," as they say.

At some point I'm going to figure out why I really really don't like the White Stripes now. It will have nothing to do with how melodic they are or aren't, but will probably have a lot to do with the fact that putting a lot of different things in one place does not in fact automatically equate to a perfect synthesis every time -- for all the wish fulfillment to the contrary.

Good enough. And they are at least songs, not excuses for songs like White Stripes' way too blues influenced ones are.

I'm sorry, but I can't let this slip by. Apologies if i sound obnoxious but just what the fuck good is music that is merely "good enough"?
There are plenty of generic indie bands out there now that can write songs that are actually GOOD. I mean, if good songs are all that matters, there's a plethora modern indie bands that fit the bill better than Hot Hot Heat.
