MT is finally heading off to NYC

I will be in NYC from Thursday to Sunday morning. The DFA has finally inspired me to get off my butt and have a look at NYC. Are there any clubs, concerts , or records shops that I should make it a point to check out while I am in town?

I think people know my tastes by now. I am not too much for the fashion aspect of electroclash and I prefer my dance records to revolve around the Detroit/Berlin axis. If there are any good raw rock and roll concerts happening I would like to know as well.

Any other fun and worthwhile things would be nice as well. Anything that has to do with performance art, digital media, or comunnications in general. Thanks in Advance!

I have been looking through the Village Voice, but the listings are not very helpful. I am going to poke around a bit more tonight before bed. I wish this trip was not so off the cuff, I have only been planning it for about three hours so far.

If you are interested in the train station a good friend of mine published a vintage photo collection awhile back, you can get more info at:

And interestingly enough, I also happened to pick up a copy of this while I was working today.

God, I am so provincial. Even on my big NYC adventure thread I cannot stop talking about Detroit.
