I love bluesy songs, especially ones that really make you feel strongly about heatbreak and lobve, with really good melodies. Anybody have any suggestions so that I can get a comp started?

I would help, but I think I'll need more to go on than that. You're talking about half the rock and roll ever made.

What do you define as a really good melody? Cause I know lots of blues songs, but good melodies are not what makes them work.

But anyway.

Mississippi John Hurt - "Cow Hooking Blues"

I guess I was a little vague on that one, but I am totally open to anything. :)

Real obvious classic rock tune - "Bell Bottom Blues" by Derek and the Dominos (Clapton's group)
Less obvious rock tune - "Need Your Love So Bad" by Fleetwood Mac, or seek the original by Little Willie John
Blues classic - Otis Rush "All Your Love (I Miss Loving)"
Another blues classic - Little Walter "Blues With a Feeling"

Those are all guitar based stuff tho. I'm still not sure what you're really looking for? Stuff compatible with a rock sensibility? Do you want songs from the point of view of unrequited love, or love scorned?

Feel strongly about love, good melody? "Since I Met You Baby" by Ivory Joe Hunter.

Or go back in time. "Come On In My Kitchen" by Robert Johnson is a classic - great tune that'll stick in your head, and scary . . . just scary. Put that one on there - EVERYONE will love you. or better still, try Downhearted Blues by Bessie Smith.

love scorned is a definite preference. Not so much rock blues Im loking for, just kind of bluesy blues. Anything, really, just....bluesy.
