gaz (gaz), Friday, 2 May 2003 09:42 (twenty-two years ago)

i love it too but shhh

stevem (blueski), Friday, 2 May 2003 09:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Their earlier stuff was so much better.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 2 May 2003 11:04 (twenty-two years ago)

The kids won't understand it.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Friday, 2 May 2003 11:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I've been hearing it more and more lately. It's growing on me. I think it should be used in a Saturn Ad.

dave225 (Dave225), Friday, 2 May 2003 11:11 (twenty-two years ago)

It would be lost on ad execs. But it would certainly give the troops a boost.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Friday, 2 May 2003 11:36 (twenty-two years ago)

It's SO 1996.

colin s barrow (colin s barrow), Friday, 2 May 2003 11:39 (twenty-two years ago)

I hate myself for liking it.

j0e (j0e), Friday, 2 May 2003 11:42 (twenty-two years ago)

j0e (j0e), Friday, 2 May 2003 11:52 (twenty-two years ago)

You guys are all on crack! It's responsible for some of the best music ever! I don't care if hippies *do* like it! It's ace!

kate, Friday, 2 May 2003 11:52 (twenty-two years ago)

(this is my favorite kind of thread.)

dave225 (Dave225), Friday, 2 May 2003 11:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Who cares whats it responsible for? its suX0r. good fr what it spawned though.

rexJr., Friday, 2 May 2003 12:01 (twenty-two years ago)

You've all sold out for even discussing it ...

Robert Moore (treble), Friday, 2 May 2003 12:03 (twenty-two years ago)

The live show is so much better.

paul cox (paul cox), Friday, 2 May 2003 12:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Ok I think we've all got a little excited here.

All it's trying to say is that this happened to me, MAYBE it is happening to you. I wouldn't expect a bunch of non involved types like yourselves to get it but you know, where I go out people are wearing this music like a skirt.

Believe.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 2 May 2003 12:23 (twenty-two years ago)

FUK OV ALL U HATRZ THIS BAND IS GRATE U CAN ALL KISS MY ASS AND EAT MY FUK.

Music lover (Johnney B), Friday, 2 May 2003 12:57 (twenty-two years ago)

but where's the melody? where's the sense of traditional Ivor Novello songwriting values? where's me washboard?

stevem (blueski), Friday, 2 May 2003 13:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Ivor Novello - hahahahah. Some of the things Geir comes out with are priceless.

Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 2 May 2003 13:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Dud, dud, a thousand times dud. (Actually, they're great. I'm drunk.)

Neudonym, Friday, 2 May 2003 13:15 (twenty-two years ago)

They've got old very fast.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Friday, 2 May 2003 18:56 (twenty-two years ago)

I have a CDr of their new album which isn't coming out until 2005... it's the best thing they've ever done.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Friday, 2 May 2003 19:20 (twenty-two years ago)

I bet Yanc3y got it before you, and burnt you a copy! ;)

Seriously though, he's really good buddies with them.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Friday, 2 May 2003 19:25 (twenty-two years ago)

This may show my age a bit, but we used to make out to this in high school.

Adam A. (Keiko), Friday, 2 May 2003 19:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I did acid and put it on repeat.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Friday, 2 May 2003 19:35 (twenty-two years ago)

It's ok but the remixes are so much better.

Billy Dods (Billy Dods), Friday, 2 May 2003 19:47 (twenty-two years ago)

It SUX U R ALL GAY

obligatory (Oops), Friday, 2 May 2003 20:09 (twenty-two years ago)

IS THAT REALLY MY REP?!?!?

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Friday, 2 May 2003 20:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I like their cover of "louie louie" though, its pretty underrated.

rexJr., Friday, 2 May 2003 20:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I preferred their other albums. That one's seriously overrated. Don't know why it gets in the top 100s all the time.

dog latin (dog latin), Saturday, 3 May 2003 01:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Weak talent leaning on the crutch of "hip" production. God you guys are suckers.

bnw (bnw), Saturday, 3 May 2003 02:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm a bit sick of it, and this commercial release of it is SO overproduced and streamlined... I liked the demo version that there were only 33 copies made of a lot better.

Øystein Holm-Olsen (Øystein H-O), Saturday, 3 May 2003 02:18 (twenty-two years ago)

It's like sitting in a washing machine filled with butterscotch pudding while Magnum TOKYO breakdances ass naked to the sound of every great disco song ever.

Nate Patrin (Nate Patrin), Saturday, 3 May 2003 02:24 (twenty-two years ago)

You're talking about Atari Teenage Riot, right?

Chris H. (chrisherbert), Saturday, 3 May 2003 02:42 (twenty-two years ago)

It's at No.4 in the midweeks!!! WTF??!!

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Saturday, 3 May 2003 06:16 (twenty-two years ago)

IS THAT REALLY MY REP?!?!?

Hahahahaha! ;)

That's what they tell me, yanc3y.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Saturday, 3 May 2003 14:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Can I just say? - I don't want to be a hater, trust me I don't, but this has been done to death. In the time this thread has been up they've broke like a leaping salmon and then gone deep underground again. All great art is made in isolation, and it's time we just left them alone. That is, if you want them to carry on doing what they've been doing. There have been a zillion threads on this already, so no joke, let's call it off. I think we're all in agreement about where we stand on this particular issue.

Besides, there's that other thing to talk about...

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Saturday, 3 May 2003 14:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Nordicskillz OTM

Adam A. (Keiko), Saturday, 3 May 2003 14:55 (twenty-two years ago)

My more detailed thoughts can be found with my reviews at the AMG.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 3 May 2003 15:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Sterling Clover (s_clover), Saturday, 3 May 2003 16:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Nate Patrin (Nate Patrin), Saturday, 3 May 2003 18:56 (twenty-two years ago)

No-one's mentioned The Subway Sect yet. The Subway Sect. Oh, and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, just to prove I'm up to date.

colin s barrow (colin s barrow), Saturday, 3 May 2003 20:29 (twenty-two years ago)

When I talked to them on tour in Germany they told me how Hegel's dialectic influenced their work. The screengazer influence is also apparent.

Christ my VV review was prescient.

doctor love hewitt (doctor love hewitt), Sunday, 4 May 2003 00:58 (twenty-two years ago)

You're all so wrong. And I thought I was the ILM consensus. The rumours about college football players, though...totally true. I have some shadowy super-8 footage that I might digitize and put up later.

Don't any of you read lyric sheets? Jeez...

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Sunday, 4 May 2003 08:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Nordicskillz you're thinking of the 70's band of the same name.

gaz (gaz), Monday, 5 May 2003 03:53 (twenty-two years ago)

The Meatls did it better.

sanchez (mokey), Monday, 5 April 2004 07:37 (twenty-one years ago)
