Messing about on AMG and just discovered that apparantly Freddie Mercury released a solo album in 1973 under the pseudonym 'Larry Lurex'. Has anyone ever heard this record?

Also, 'Mr. Bad Guy' - Classic or Dud?

In 2000, EMI released the 3-CD "Freddie Mercury" solo, which included both of his two solo albums plus a bonus CD containing the following tracks:

1. I Can Hear Music
2. Love Kills
3. The Great Pretender
4. Living On My Own (1993 mix)
5. In My Defence
6. Time
7. Love Kills

In other words, more or less everything he ever did.

As for "I Can Hear Music" that particular recording was a carbon copy cover version of an old Phil Spector classic, originally recorded by either Crystals, Ronettes or Bob B. Soxx

nineteen years pass...

This just popped up on an algorithm. Never knew of its existence prior to today.

i just got this original 45. hard to find! "Goin' Back" is such an amazing song. one of my fave 60s tunes and definitely up there for me in the goffin/king canon. its just so beautiful. i wonder how many versions there are of it. The Byrds one has always been my go-to. but this Larry Lurex fellow does it justice!

Just came across this version of "I Can Hear Music" again. Reminded me of The Alessi Brothers, which is a good thing.
