What are YOU going to bid for? I'm minded to wait for The OX's suits of armour auction later in the year. I wonder if he used to wear them round the house?

Could someone please go along and 'do a Titian' on some of this stuff on my behalf?

HOPE I DIE BEFORE I GET SOLD May 9 2003

By Emma Britton

GOING once, going twice…half a million quid’s worth of Who star John Entwistle’s treasured belongings.

There’s a rare Gibson Explorer guitar and a classic Gibson Flying V, one of which is likely to raise up to £70,000.

Also up for grabs are a set of his caricture drawings of the band, one of the rocker’s flamboyant jackets – for £500 – a spider pendant and a deep sea diver’s helmet.

Then there’s Entwistle’s collection of fish, stuffed ones and ornamental models, which hung all around his Cotswolds home.

The memorabilia goes on sale at Sotheby’s auction house in London on Tuesday, nearly a year after the 57-year-old bassist’s death. The cash will go to his estate.

But Entwistle’s girfriend Lisa Prichett-Johnson may find herself having to bid for some of the gear, despite being with him for 13 years.

Financial wrangling means she has already been kicked out of the mansion she shared with the star. He divided his estate equally between her, his son Christopher, 31, and his 80-year-old mum Queenie.

Lisa claims he was going to change his will so she could stay on in the 52-room house. She is now in a cottage on the 42-acre site.

Entwistle, nicknamed The Ox, was found dead in a Las Vegas hotel room after a drug-fuelled romp with a stripper last June.

If someone wants to buy me a lovely present, please bid on the smashed Warwick Buzzard Bass.
