I've had a pre-release of the new National Forest album for about 3 days, and I've come to the conclusion that it's going to be hard to shift from my #1 Album of the Year spot. How good is is? It's damn fantastic, that's how good it is.
What is it like that is making Porly do backflips you may ask? Well, it's got a good slab of Nobukazu Takemura in there, exceptional textures and interestingly different arrangements, cool little melodies and a slighly lo-fi feel that stops it being as impersonal as a lot of other stuff in the ilk.
More power to the current Mum, Fourtet, Manitoba, Lali Puna etc. axis of aceness!
