Tomcraft best thing on there by virtue of their dancers dressing like Kraftwerk.

and by being the best song out of that lot by a million miles (altho i dont mind the Blur one much at all)

Blur's one was Crazy Beat, just for clarification. Though presumably you already knew that.

Why did I just know this was your thread, bwoy?

I noticed when they were showing the acts warming up, Craig David and Sting are the only two people on British TV with less chemistry than Ally McCoist and Frankie Dettori.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Saturday, 10 May 2003 20:37 (twenty-two years ago)

but Ally McCoist is the clown prince of football punditry! surely he's more useful than Andy Townsend or Robbie Earle?

Surely Ian Wright now claims that crown. He wore a kimono for the World Cup final and described Ronaldinho as having "mad skillz". As a result - CLASSIC.

From hating their earlier ones I'm amazed how much I like this latest Busted single. (I've also been watching the 'Busted Karaoke' series on the Saturday Show and find it quite moving). The Kelly Rowland single is great but she spoiled it with some weak outro ad-libbed vocals. The 12 year old in me loves the Kym Marsh single as well. Tomcraft was ok I suppose. Blur did nothing for me.

David (David), Saturday, 10 May 2003 23:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Ian Wright's finest moment during the world cup was describing the (I think) Saudi defence as being "all over the gaff".

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 11 May 2003 00:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Tomcraft - single of the year so far! (though the performance was sadly naff)

Marcello Carlin, Sunday, 11 May 2003 15:36 (twenty-two years ago)

...Ian Wright at half time at an England international, talking about Steven Gerrard (I think):

"...I don't wanna criticise him."

Well, why are you on the fucking panel, you dimwit!

Dadaismus (Dada), Sunday, 11 May 2003 16:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I really like Kelly Rowland as a singer (plus the fact that she's pretty easy on the eye doesn't hurt either). Tomcraft: very surprised at how much I like this one... busted, funny... If I had pre-teen children I'd wnt them to be listening to stuff like this, therefore just fine...

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Sunday, 11 May 2003 16:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Ian Wright, World Cup 98:

"Not blaming anyone, but David (Beckham) getting sent off cost us the match."

me too probly, but i don't, so they can eat my fuc, as they say

Tomcraft is pretty shit I think, it sounds like a re-working of about ten superior records and it is part of an irritating trend of these wanky lite part electro part house records which are doing the rounds at the moment. (Whaddup by Tony Senghore as another example)

It's like people need the camp to be removed before they can like a record. Also it's a cringey vocal I think.

Ronan (Ronan), Sunday, 11 May 2003 20:11 (twenty-two years ago)

oh you're right, hell i didnt even download it, thats how much i really 'like' it heh

stevem (blueski), Sunday, 11 May 2003 22:01 (twenty-two years ago)

That's the cool thing about that Tomcraft tune, it throws in all kinds of elements that shouldn't work together, and still it's something that really works as a whole. His whole album has that approach, very interesting. But if you're turned off by the all the eclecticsm, by all means proceed to the Klub Mix which ditches the piano and most of the other fluff and toughens things up considerably.

Also it's a cringey vocal I think.

The original vocal (on the 12" on Kosmo from last year at least, with the Klub Mux and Muc Mix) was ok, but the current album version and the radio edit have this crappy rerecorded one, probably copyright issues?
