Rules 1; It doesn't count if they've only made one record.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 12 May 2003 13:26 (twenty-two years ago)

"Layers" by Les McCann...I've always wondered what his other records sound like, but this is so perfect I don't want to wreck it in any shape or form.

Erick H (Erick H), Monday, 12 May 2003 13:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Probably PJ Harvey. I have 4-Track Demos and a best-of mix CD a friend made me, but no other proper albums (even though I've heard most of them and really liked 'em).

I've only got "Love Is Dead" by Mr T Experience, but that album is so fucking amazingly brilliant in every single aspect possible, that I can't see how buying another album would help at all. Except I'll probably break down one day and get "... And The Women Who Love Them" of Amazon.

roxy music and t rex.

vahid (vahid), Wednesday, 14 May 2003 03:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Possibly Jackson Browne. I own only "Late For The Sky", which is an excellent album, but I have burned CD copies of three of his other 70s albums, after having borrowed them from the library.

Does that count?

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Wednesday, 14 May 2003 11:04 (twenty-two years ago)

RE: Randy Newman- 13 Songs, Good Old Boys, and Sail Away are all equally essential. There's a live one from the same period ('70-'73 maybe?). His last studio effort (2000, i think) was quite listenable; his best in 20+ years. Go and see him live, if'n you get the chance.

Will (will), Wednesday, 14 May 2003 12:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Le Tigre (doesn't seem like I'd want the second one), Eric Dolphy "Out There", Ornette Coleman "Town Hall 1962". Old jazz records are rare and expensive. "The Walker Brothers Story". Augustus Pablo "The Melodica Master". Mission of Burma "Forget". Al Green Greatest Hits Vols 1/2.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Wednesday, 14 May 2003 12:35 (twenty-two years ago)

If we're talking about the release, and not the band, then it's the second S/T Indigo Girls album for me. It's the only album of theirs that I like, and it's easily in my top 200 albums of all-time.

Ballboy. "A Guide For The Daylight Hours" is, like, almost my all-time fave mopey indie album, but the one after that got roundly dismissed by the ppl who'd reccomended me that one, and since I have total music ADD I never dug deeper. Did download a few tunes of theirs when I first installed slsk tho, they were good but too similiar to "A Guide...".

Daniel_Rf (Daniel_Rf), Tuesday, 20 June 2006 17:59 (nineteen years ago)

But also: Husker Du, Al Green, Mogwai, Dinosaur Jr, Shuggie Otis.

Offisa Pump (Rock Hardy), Tuesday, 20 June 2006 19:37 (nineteen years ago)

Me too for Sublime. I think I've owned all their albums at some point or another, but the only one I've not sold/thrown at a hobo is 40 Oz. to Freedom, which is still, like, totally kickass.

mummy wrapped in bacon (nickalicious), Tuesday, 20 June 2006 19:41 (nineteen years ago)

I only "own" Vision Creation Newsum by The Boredoms, but I have a whole shit ton of other stuff on mp3 only...does that count?

mummy wrapped in bacon (nickalicious), Tuesday, 20 June 2006 19:42 (nineteen years ago)

Somehow all of my Sly Stone records (omg actual records, too!) have disappeared other than Small Talk.
