Songs about scones

Don't ask me why (unless you want an incoherent answer), but I need a list of songs that mention scones, the tasty semi-pastry of Scotland. What better place to ask than here at ILM, repository of all useless musical knowledge?

Would that include what Americans typically call biscuits?

Either way, I can't think of any.

Monty Python's The Lumberjack Song rhymes "lavatory" with "buttered scones for tea" IIRC...

Scones are just deep-fried bread dough here, much like a smaller version of an elelphant ear. There is an ad for the state fair with a jingle that mentions scones, but good luck finding it.

Fivvy (Fivvy), Monday, 12 May 2003 17:54 (twenty-two years ago)

If this thread proves anything, it's that people need to get busy writing more scone songs. Maybe an entire concept album is in order.

but other would insist that it actually rhymes with "on"

robin (robin), Monday, 12 May 2003 18:56 (twenty-two years ago)

("Freak Scone" is funny tho..)

dave225 (Dave225), Monday, 12 May 2003 18:56 (twenty-two years ago)

This is a bit like posting a crush tape, but the object of my long game (if in fact I have one) had a friend who misheard a line from an Indigo Girls song - "I'm coming home/with a stone/strapped onto my back" - as "I'm coming home/with a scone/strapped onto my back". Now I can't hear the song (tho I don't really listen to them any more) without changing the lyrics and thinking of the girl.
