Fine quality electronix for New York people...

I really don't like to spam, but I thought people who live in New York should be aware of this really great show this Thursday. Perhaps we could also discuss some stuff in the low-tech/homemade/crude electronix vein on the thread?

Thursday 05.15.03
NAUTICAL ALMANAC | MYSTERY BRINKMAN
HUMECTANT INTERRUPTION | DJ JOEL ST. GERMAIN
BOOMBOX 2000
@ free103 Gallery, Second Floor,
97 S. 6th St. btw Bedford + Berry,
Southside, Williamsburg,
8 p.m., $5
Nautical Almanac: Baltimore-based electronics duo; new pic disc "Chisum" (Here See)
Mystery Brinkman
Humectant Interruption
Boombox 2000
DJ Joel St. Germain

show ends at midnight

Mystery Brinkman should be Matt Brinkman of Mindflayer (ex-Forcefield).

Humectant Interruption is Joel St. Germain. I'm biased, because he's a friend, but his music is fucking incredible. His long-ago-released tape Some Blacks is a favorite in the homemade/weird/cracked electronix sweepstakes, and I'm totally looking forward to seeing him (the last time I saw him was in a duo with Russ Waterhouse back in 2000). If you can go, go.

indeed a nice lineup, and if it didn't violate my "only go to two shows a year maximum" rule i would be there. also, my "stay out of new york" rule.

EVERYONE should see nautical almanac at least once. and buy carly ptak's solo "prepare your self" cdr.

Yeah, I love Prepare Your Self.

you should go, it should be fun. Again, I'm really excited to see Joel play, haven't seen him play solo, and the last time I saw him play with someone else was three years ago (almost to the day).

oh fuck, it appears Mat Brinkman has cancelled. No explanation. I'm still gonna go, tho.
