Recommend me some current PRO ROCK

using PRO ROCK to avoid subjecting you to the word "indie" in another thread title, but this question could also read:

Recommend me some current NON-INDIE ROCK

And I don't want it if it's not technically indie but has obvious, uh, indie appeal like, I don't know, the White Stripes for instance.

When I buy rock, I tend to buy stuff that is old, indie-underground-fringe, and/or canonical.

I want recommendations of rock that is new, non-indie, and may or may not ever be canonical but which you just plain ENJOY.

(question inspired by a recent browse of the CD section of Best Buy)

The Deftones.

Or are they metal for indie folk?

I imagined that we, being ourselves, would ask questions like this when responding to this thread.

But hey, don't worry about it. Thanks for the answer.

This thread is already giving me a severe crisis of confidence.

It's just another indie guilt thread! gygax!, is that you?

Noooooo! It's not meant to be a "guilty pleasures" thread.

The Kyuss-lineage makes them indie-friendly though. We're talking Dave Matthews, aren't we?
