German group, who sound like Ladytron meets The Rapture. You'll love them. Who loves them? I do.

Was listening to their track "Desktop" this morning when I hit on the above comparison..

this sounds awesome, can ou give me more info on them?

they've got three albums and a few singles released on the Bungalow Records label.

Their earlier stuff is great too, but it's a lot more krautrocky.

this mina you speak of... are they responsible for an album titled a to b that hosts a 7+ minute track titled TBA? it's good, and fits the description. i came across TBA about a year ago and although i listened to a few other mina songs, i couldn't find anything else to my liking. can you schools me on a similar track to re-ignite interest in mina?

yes that's them. my favourite tracks from the recent album are "desktop" and "girl roc".. from the previous album my faves are "kupferfarben" and "minsc" (which were also the two singles from that album)

thanks, esoj. you've convinced me to give mina a second chance.

Mina!
albums:
"Kryptonite" (containing the singles esoj mentioned): terrific (fwiw: i listened to it this morning whilst commuting)
"A to B" follow-up and flawless (to my ears) (a bit more "tight" than Kryptonite)
"Expander" released in 2002, containing remixes of Mina-songs (among which: TBA, Girlroc and Desktop) by (among others) Schneider TM & Micha Archer. apparently great & fun but haven't heard it myself (yet)

nelly velocitygirrrl to thread!

Glad someone did this thread - they are ludicrously underappreciated given the kind of stuff that gets hyped by fashionistas these days. I was nutty about Kryptonite when it came out, although I can't say I've listened to them for a while. Ladytron meets The Rapture is pretty good - I reviewed the last one and said something like New Order crossed with Gang of Four. Either way The Face should be licking them up by now...

the single version of "girl roc" on the slut smalls label is very very New Order, for some reason the LP version is less so (a bit "cleaner" perhaps)..
