Too bad Field & Stream was already taken.

Andy K (Andy K), Friday, 16 May 2003 13:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Why should I waste my time and money on them when they can't even spell Norah Jones' name properly?

If they'd put Leonard Cohen and Girls Aloud on the cover, then I might be interested... ;-)

Marcello Carlin, Friday, 16 May 2003 13:52 (twenty-two years ago)

The NY Post misspelled Norah's name, not Tracks.

Who's willing to bet that Hornby will have a big article in the first issue?

Actually, they should call the magazine Hornby Life instead of Tracks, which sounds like a dance-music magazine. I was almost excited when I went to click into the thread the first time. Cynicism hurrah.

Tracks is the US Version of UK's Word.

= Dull rock critic oriented mag for 40somethings.

I hope that they include recipes for lo-fat snacks that you can take to Steely Dan shows. In fact, Snacks, would be a better title. "Pop and Rock tidbits and facts for soccer moms and way cool dads" could be their motto.

scott seward, Friday, 16 May 2003 14:42 (twenty-two years ago)

oh, the title could have been a lot worse. they were originally planning to call it Good Music, which thank goodness they aren't anymore.

M Matos (M Matos), Friday, 16 May 2003 15:14 (twenty-two years ago)

oh jeez, you're right! i forgot about that. i remember thinking that they must have had some sort of contest to think up the most generic title imaginable.so, yeah, i guess it IS an improvement.

scott seward, Friday, 16 May 2003 15:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I of course was eagerly awaiting the inevitable sequels: Mediocre Music, Commercial Pop Bullshit, My Kid Sister Wouldn't Even Touch That With a Ten Foot Pole Music, et al....

M Matos (M Matos), Friday, 16 May 2003 16:10 (twenty-two years ago)

I vote for Slacks. "Dylan and Knopfler try on each others Levis," that sort of thing.

s woods, Friday, 16 May 2003 16:15 (twenty-two years ago)

but Trouser Press was already taken!

M Matos (M Matos), Friday, 16 May 2003 16:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Ha Ha!

M Matos (M Matos), Friday, 16 May 2003 16:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Umm, Hacks?

s woods, Friday, 16 May 2003 16:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Hell, I'd write for it.
