Beck.... Golden Feelings-era stuff.... C/D?

Inspired by the recent thread on Beck, I thought I'd ask what everyone thinks of his pre-Mellow Gold stuff.... or to be more exact, what everyone thinks of the hard-to-find "Golden Feelings," "Buck Fuck Iowa," "Banjo Story," and "Fresh Meat" stuff. I think they'll all basically bootleggish outtakes from the Steropathetic Soul Manure period... got most of them through the usual online avenues. Whenever I'm feeling down, I put on "Let's Go Moon Some Cars," and "Tough Fucking Shit." Cheers me up everytime.

i remember hearing one of those and wishing that he'd followed the guided by voices / will oldham career path instead of the pavement path - 2-3 halfassed records a year of carefree shambles instead of trying to refine himself and doing one record every 2 years.

"Let's Go Moon Some Cars" is one of five the best songs evah about this *holds thumb and index finger approximately 3 inches apart* far into a bottle of Jim Beam. Is "Mexico" pre-Mellow Gold? Cuz that's one of my favorite Beck songs...friggin CLASSIC.

"Mexico" is amazing, yeah. I like "Let's Go Moon Some Cars" too. But overall, most of this stuff sucks shit.
