N.O.I.A.: Unreleased Classics or Dud? (RFI, S/D)

I overheard some robotic synth-pop played over my video store’s speakers that I knew was neither Kraftwerk nor Devo, but that had a bit of both in it. And sounded ridiculously addictive. A propulsive, funk-laced track kicked into gear and incited me to make a bit of a cybernetic dancing fool of myself as I stood in line to check out my tapes. It turned out to be Italian band N.O.I.A., newly rescued from oblivion by Ersatz (album is called Unreleased Classics 78-82). Apparently the band reformed briefly in 2000 to record a bunch of previously unreleased songs.

On the basis of what I heard alone, I'd say Classic, and I've decided to get this album. But I'm wondering if anybody here is familiar with their the rest of their records, and your thoughts on those.

I just heard about these guys the other day, I'm intrigued. I'll have to ask around...

Turns out there's a Nitsuh-penned review of Unreleased Classics at Pitchfork.

NOIA trivia: according to the Ersatz website, Davide Piatto of NOIA composed Klein & MBO's "Dirty Talk".

Enjoyed your review, Nabisco. "The Italian Kraftwerk" is pretty much an unavoidable tag, isn't it. It was one of the first things, left-brain wise, that I thought of upon hearing them.

two weeks pass...
revival attempt.

finally received this album yesterday and my girlfriend and i (she's the critical one) started "dancing" (whilst preparing dinner...) immediately after putting it on! [don't know if one could've called it cybernetic dancing] so: classic it is. anyone else heard it yet?
