...were both performed by people wearing clothing you would never see someone wear on the street (Rick Wakeman's cape = Gary Shider's diaper, etc)
...were both very much pushing the synthesizers-in-popular-music movement (as well as the roadies-with-very-sore-backs coinciding-"movement")
