It's the tagline for the 11-1 slot on XFM, it's a mission statement. Has anyone heard this show? It drains music of all glamour. Although I must admit it's turned me on to some great stuff, it's like the aural pinnacle of Simon Reynolds' Rough Trade observations, dilettantism with no feeling, a kinda second-gen Peelism. I was wincing while listening to it in bed last nite, almost pulling the covers over my eyes.

So, like I say, with all this dilettantism, you're bound to like something. So he plays an Outhud remix of that DK7 everyone loves so much. I lurch. Someone should have seen this coming. It's the resurrection of indie-dance. Accelerated culture blah blah blah means these punk-funkisms have already spawned what appears to be the Paris Angels. D'you think this is the next step? It sux when your sordid past catches up with you.

'Course, Dizzee's playing live on Wed nite's show so who am I to criticise, he should join up with Shaun Ryder. It's live on-line.

I hate that Disco-Punk stuff. It's incredibly dull.

This whole thing sounds like a uniquely British problem of some sort.

The most ancient sort of all. oh to be on the cusp of indie fusion.
