Jay Vee (Manon_70), Wednesday, 21 May 2003 13:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Noooooooooo!

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Wednesday, 21 May 2003 14:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Yup, not working for me.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Wednesday, 21 May 2003 14:01 (twenty-two years ago)

been switchin servers this week

nick.K (nick.K), Wednesday, 21 May 2003 14:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Whew!

Jay Vee (Manon_70), Wednesday, 21 May 2003 15:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Let me know if it's still not working right, we're having teething troubles, but it should be functioning.
You might be interested to know that of all the tracks I single out relatively few tracks actually make it on the AMP - they're not worth bringing to people's attention cause they've already heard them (in a non-buy-this-now context) or the artist wouldn't benefit from the attention or there's some connection between us and the artist and I'll get grief. Or it's more hip-hop and 'jk' will give me grief (he will do now...) Or it's a track I love, for it's faults (and you'll give me grief)

I should list some of those that 'could' have gone up recently

DM + Jemini - Drugs / Bush Boys

Juan MacLean - Give Me Every Little Thing

Isolee - It's About

Robag Wruhme - Fragma

Elephant Man - Making Money

Mu - Let's Get Sick

DK7 - The Difference

Blintz - At a Glance

That unreleased Si Begg track

Buck65 - The Centaur (live)

Justin Timberlake - Rock Your Body

Jay-Z and Pharell - Frontin

Mocky - Mickey Mouse M*th*rf*cker

Sean Paul - Get Busy remix

something by Fleetwood Mac

Husker Du - Celebrated Summer

Ben Klock - Tag Dert Arbiet

Lacquer - X

Alan Braxe - Funk Bitch on the Bass (watch out for Rubicon when it drops)

Rechenzentrum - Nelson Reprise

all the Luomo stuff

anything by 'The Wedding Present'
Diego - Mind detergent

Hagedorn - Funk Infection

Audio Bullys - Turned Away

Richard X and Liberty X

Non-prophets (Sage Francis)

and er.... the.. er Junior Boys. You know this list could go on forever..

nick.K (nick.K), Wednesday, 21 May 2003 16:54 (twenty-two years ago)

nick you are a geezer putting the luomo stuff up there... i love you and will buy you a beer on saturday if you fancy meeting up...

nick.K (nick.K), Wednesday, 21 May 2003 18:47 (twenty-two years ago)

nick.K (nick.K), Wednesday, 21 May 2003 19:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Sir, you most certainly do rock.

A photographer pal of mine spent the afternoon last friday shooting and hanging at the DFA studio. Said the DFA guys are very great gentlemen and the sight of watching Juan McLean record was sumthin' else.
Lucky bastid.

Jay Vee (Manon_70), Wednesday, 21 May 2003 19:47 (twenty-two years ago)

PLEEEEEEEEEZE put up the Mocky track!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 21 May 2003 19:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey -

Just went back to check it out and I still get a "Microsoft error" page.

Jay Vee (Manon_70), Wednesday, 21 May 2003 20:04 (twenty-two years ago)

I want to hear any song called "Funk Bitch On The Bass".

Nick H, Wednesday, 21 May 2003 22:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Still not there.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Thursday, 22 May 2003 10:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Technical issues, it seems to work for 50% of people.. i'll have it fixed soon..

jk)), Thursday, 22 May 2003 11:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Mind Taker, Thursday, 22 May 2003 17:24 (twenty-two years ago)

nick.K (nick.K), Friday, 23 May 2003 13:42 (twenty-two years ago)

It seems to be fucking quick at moment. This is the new server at work I take it?

Nick H, Friday, 23 May 2003 17:49 (twenty-two years ago)

three weeks pass...
What's up with Gabba.net right now? It seems to have reverted to last week's (a fortnight ago's?) listings.

Also, nick.K, Justus Kohncke's "Wichita Lineman" - any chance of putting this up?

Cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 19 June 2003 16:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I would but we're already had several Kohncke tracks, and I already stuck the original up, but it's a great track.

Ok, as you may have noticed the Gabba downtime has gone up again. We seem to be in the position where we're switching servers every other week so in an effort to keep themn off our backs I'm just going to keep the left-hand side running and sack the archive for a bit. Of course, if there's something you really NEED (and I understand NEEDs) drop me a mail I'll point you in the right direction. Remember kids these are purely for evalutation purposes and we know you erase them after you've finished. Good...

nick.K (nick.K), Saturday, 28 June 2003 16:03 (twenty-two years ago)

hold tight

stevem (blueski), Saturday, 28 June 2003 16:28 (twenty-two years ago)

You people have all missed the point of the thread. Jay Vee wanted to know, not where gabba.net had gone, but why it was called gabba.net in the first place. Hence, the use of the word 'wherefore'.

My guess is because they started as a gabba site?

Alright, I'm being a smartarse.

colin s barrow (colin s barrow), Saturday, 28 June 2003 21:46 (twenty-two years ago)

skiffle.net had already gone i guess

stevem (blueski), Saturday, 28 June 2003 22:02 (twenty-two years ago)

'Gabba' describes the intensity for which we love music, or at least that's what it means this morning.

nick.K (nick.K), Sunday, 29 June 2003 09:29 (twenty-two years ago)

one year passes...
Please please please say this somehow isn't true.

adam.r.l. (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 19:02 (twenty-one years ago)

adam.r.l. (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 19:03 (twenty-one years ago)

adam.r.l. (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 19:03 (twenty-one years ago)

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 19:15 (twenty-one years ago)

now that this is out, maybe a proper thread is in order? i am thinking a lot of people have memories they would like to share...

mark p (Mark P), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 19:16 (twenty-one years ago)

really terrible, Nick was always such a positive presence around these parts, never met him IRL. Just don't know what to say it's fucking awful.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 19:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Fuck. I just checked on this thread to see what Gabba.net was up to..... I agree that a proper thread is in order.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 19:17 (twenty-one years ago)

im going to start one now. apologies in advance if anyone feels that's out of order.

mark p (Mark P), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 19:19 (twenty-one years ago)

three months pass...
i'm not sure if this an appropriate thread to revive (and perhaps this has been mentioned elsewhere) but http://www.gabba.cc has been relaunched and redesigned, with a new community-minded spirit.

David R. (popshots75`), Saturday, 21 May 2005 17:55 (twenty years ago)
