Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Wednesday, 21 May 2003 16:01 (twenty-two years ago)

What, robot Thoms get it on?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 21 May 2003 16:08 (twenty-two years ago)

no, he's lost in a scary transmogrification forest

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Wednesday, 21 May 2003 16:11 (twenty-two years ago)

let's hope he doesn't find a cliff to fling himself off of, along with all those cottles and butlery...

janni (janni), Wednesday, 21 May 2003 16:12 (twenty-two years ago)

no, he's lost in a scary transmogrification forest

Oh, Tool.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 21 May 2003 16:14 (twenty-two years ago)

"cottles & butlery"

ha!

(note: I've not seen this vid yet. What song is it for?)

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 21 May 2003 16:27 (twenty-two years ago)

it's for 'there there', it's very bjork 93, great stuff until the 'bad twist ending theater' money shot

James Blount (James Blount), Wednesday, 21 May 2003 16:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Radiohead in touring with Tomahawk shockah!

janni (janni), Wednesday, 21 May 2003 16:29 (twenty-two years ago)

They made me watch it before the Matrix!

Mary (Mary), Wednesday, 21 May 2003 20:26 (twenty-two years ago)

And who are they, then? The agents?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 21 May 2003 20:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Worse, the publicists!

Mary (Mary), Wednesday, 21 May 2003 20:59 (twenty-two years ago)

i caught the last 10 seconds of it last week - looks great - probably a Tim Hope promo, tho possibly Gondry

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 21 May 2003 21:15 (twenty-two years ago)

It is the silliest thing I have ever seen.

Mary (Mary), Wednesday, 21 May 2003 21:45 (twenty-two years ago)

the way it's shot looks like the last Coldplay video. is this some sort of reverse influence thing going on?

JasonD (JasonD), Wednesday, 21 May 2003 23:11 (twenty-two years ago)

decent, but the end is a huge disappointment -with thom's 'ghost face' in the tree trunk. it's a really embarassing effect, if we can even call it one. the video should have ended by panning down and showing the coat hangning on a branch.

does anyone get what i mean?

reo fordecor, Wednesday, 21 May 2003 23:46 (twenty-two years ago)

oh shut up everyone! shut up shut up shut up! "Hail To The Thief" is great and everything to do with it - end of discussion!

Oh yeah, and shut up!

dog latin (dog latin), Thursday, 22 May 2003 00:04 (twenty-two years ago)

I saw it tonight... the dichotomy with the Cribs pap on MTV1 playing at the same time was interesting. Nature's gonna have her revenge for our mucking about, trying on coats and whatnot. It's better than 99% of the shit out there. So I don't see what's the big whoop.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Thursday, 22 May 2003 00:22 (twenty-two years ago)

don't get me wrong, the song is great, and the video does it justice, but the end is just cheese.

reo fordecor, Thursday, 22 May 2003 01:09 (twenty-two years ago)

for a second i though this thread was going to be about an episode of spaceghost

kephm, Thursday, 22 May 2003 01:49 (twenty-two years ago)

it's a new(ish) director who used to be at bolex bros - chris hopewell, and his new company collision films. i'm quite eager to see it - all i know is that it's shot in a forest, uses "human animation," and is loosely based on a grimm's fairy tale. and the whole thing sounded mightily bjorkian to me the moment i heard about it.

philip sherburne (philip sherburne), Thursday, 22 May 2003 02:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Thanks for spoiling the video, guys. Great.

Money shot. Heh heh. Is it Thom-porn? Oh, please let it be Thom-porn.

kate, Thursday, 22 May 2003 07:25 (twenty-two years ago)

*shudders at the thought of Thom's big Yorkie*

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 22 May 2003 08:46 (twenty-two years ago)

It's a good thing Melissa is travelling or she'd whack you for that. Though I might just have to!

Hey, shall I start a C*l*m type thread about Thom's Big Yorkie?

kate, Thursday, 22 May 2003 08:50 (twenty-two years ago)

YES!

James Blount (James Blount), Thursday, 22 May 2003 08:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll take that as a no.

kate, Thursday, 22 May 2003 08:56 (twenty-two years ago)

there's a really great Thom sneer in the video

James Blount (James Blount), Thursday, 22 May 2003 08:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm seeing Radiohead in Manchester tonight and now I just know that, at the most emotionally charged moment of the set, the phrase "Thom's Big Yorkie" is going to pop into my head, make me laugh and ruin it.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 22 May 2003 09:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Woah, back it up, beep beep beep...

Radiohead? Tomahawk? On tour together?

Bizarro World; welcome to it. (I may be among the small few who would kill for tickets to these concerts.)

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 22 May 2003 12:49 (twenty-two years ago)

I hated it after seeing the "exclusive" promo, that cut just seemed silly. but after watching it fully i think its great but not up there with the "Knives out" and "I might be wrong" videos. the track is great too (but i'd probably hate the video if i didn't like the track, its just goes so well with the atmosphere of the track).

Jrvision (visionjr), Thursday, 22 May 2003 14:09 (twenty-two years ago)

oh nickalicious one, sad to say (well, for you) i was joking. blame Ned mentioning Tool. :)

janni (janni), Thursday, 22 May 2003 14:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 22 May 2003 15:54 (twenty-two years ago)

neigh?

janni (janni), Thursday, 22 May 2003 15:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Nah.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 22 May 2003 15:59 (twenty-two years ago)

baaaaaaaaaa.

janni (janni), Thursday, 22 May 2003 16:01 (twenty-two years ago)

This is seventh generation recolorized prints of what they found in his Name Is Alive's attic. The urban legend borne from the man who ingested the acid he was smuggling across the Mexican border and thought he became the cover to Piano Magic's "Low Birth Weight". If you ever get close to a curio and curio behavior.

Fivvy (Fivvy), Thursday, 22 May 2003 16:25 (twenty-two years ago)

two years pass...
Tss! It's a reference to Dante's Hell, the video. Obviously! A lot of the record actually is. "Walk into the jaws of hell." "The raindrops." Aha! Plenty of references.
