I've been overplaying some of my favourite records lately so I need another band to occupy me for a while... any suggestions?

Here are some songs I've been listening to lately. Hopefully you can use these to figure out my taste.

The Shins - "New Slang", "Past and Pending"
The Eels - "Wooden Nickels", "The Good Old Days", "Rock Hard Times"
The Replacements - "Skyway", "Androgynous"
The Clash - "Lost in the Supermarket"
Neutral Milk Hotel - "King of Carrot Flowers Part 1"

I like the Shins. If you like them, I would recommend:

New Pornographers "Electric Version"
Joel Plaskett Emergency "Down at the Khyber"
Brendan Benson "Lapalco"
Of Montreal "Aldhil's Alboretum"

So there.

The Grifters

You could start with either "Ain't My Lookout", "Eureka" or "Crappin You Negative" and not go wrong.

My mom recomends Mission of Burma, of course. I, of course recomend Foo Fighters. Why don't you listen to some Queen as well?

Your mom listens to Mission of Burma? Wow, gotta love those postpunk moms!
