"Let's Go" vs "Everybody Have Fun Tonight"

I mentioned this already on the 'Epilepsy' thread, I think, but an epileptic I knew once told me his greatest regret in life was that he could never take LSD. But what if he did and was subsequently cured? Also when people talk about finding 'cures' for diseases do sufferers get mad, cuz it's like a part of their identity? The connection here is the 'EHFT' video which apparently caused alot of people to have serious seizures and they died. Fuck I'm crap at inventing urban legends aren't I

Neither did I. Maybe it's only true if the person is from the West Country

"Let's Go" beats "EHFT" quite thoroughly.

I'll always choose the Cars over Wang Chung, but I was always struck by how sluggish "Let's Go" sounds for a song about partying the night away. As insubstantial as the Wang Chung hit is (and it is), it at least has a bit of energy to it, whereas "Let's Go" practically lurches.

I'll always choose the Cars over Wang Chung...

I naturally assumed that the "Let's Go" in question was the Wang Chung song with that title.

Paul Cox (paul cox), Saturday, 24 May 2003 03:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I was thinking the "Let's Go" referred to in the title was the Wang Chung song (from the late-'80s album Mosaic), instead of the late-'70s Cars song "Let's Go".

I choose the Wang Chung "Let's Go" over the Cars "Let's Go", but in reference to the original topic I'd have to go with Door # 3 and select "Dance Hall Days" or "Don't Be My Enemy", both from the truly good album Points on the Curve. Jack Hues and Nick Feldman may have become wildly famous with Mosaic, but Points on the Curve is jazzier and has more to offer to the listener. IMHO.

p.s.: Please add ", as well" right after the last "'Let's Go'" on the first sentence right there. Didn't mean to gloss over Paul Cox's post, honest.

Best things Wang Chung ever did were the track they supplied to the soundtrack of "The Breakfast Club" (the scene wherein our rag-tag gaggle of unlikely high school comrades elude Mr.Vernon and goto Bender's locker to retrieve "doobage", only to suddenly find themselves in the proverbial dangerzone as their would-be jailer stalks the halls) called "Fire in the Twillight" and their title theme to "To Live & Die in L.A."
