-- well what's that particular 'vision' of his then?

You don't need to be a black american from Seattle to play like Jimi Hendrix!

Holy shit I've wasted my life

by a silly twist of fate, Trower & Jack Bruce's Truce (1982) was smuggled under my roof rrrrecently; a friend was so damn determined to get rid of his copy that he did manage to leave it with me, somehow
erm, i gave that round little object a try, in a cautious kinda manner ("mh, there's Jack Bruce here, p'haps it ain't all that bad then?"), but really couldn't force myself past track three

why is this guy so terrible? he was good in the scorpions. he was real gppd in the scorpions and his songs didn't even suck when he played with them.
(also, i like some early robin trower stuff. i like the ridiculously viscuous guitar tone, i try to overlook the SOULFUL WHITE BLOOZE vox.)

i listened to taken by force by the scorpions yesterday, he was tearin' it up.
never heard robin trower or uli solo though.
i have almost purchased "bridge of sighs" by trower like a zillion times.

Bridge of Sighs is great.

someday, someday....
steamrock fever by scorps is such a stone jam.

You'd have to say that Uli is one of the all-time worst rock vocalists, but one of the very best hard rock guitarists. Play to your strengths man! I still have fond memories of seeing the Beyond The Astral Skies tour, where he had about 4 singers and innumerable keyboard players. That album is totally crazy, AND it was funded by EMI. It's the direction prog metal should have gone in, but didn't.

^^^
He1ges0n, if you can't find it for $1 on LP or a couple of bucks for the last "remastered & bonus tracks" cd (it was just reissued again w/different bonuses) i'd be amazed...

Bridge of Sighs is worth it for Day of the Eagle alone. Some band called Meringue did a great cover of it on the awesome Bananafish compilation 'Vidas Ilustres'.
