That's Not what they said

Have you ever thought you knew the words to a song and then when you found out what they really were, feel stupid because you were totally and completly wrong?

I used to think the words to one song were "let you know" but it's actually "Metronome". It would actually make more sense if they were "let you know".

In the same song, my mom thought the words were "I'm only retarded", but they are, " I'm alone and I'm an easy target".

My French grandmother thought the lyrics to Paul McCartneys "Another Day" were
"Sausage, Sausage, why do I feel sausage?"

System of a Down song - I thought they were saying "pushing little children with the folly of their madness", but it turns out they're saying "pushing little children with their fully automatics". I actually like my misinterpretation better; but that's cool, cuz now I can totally steal it.

The folly of their madness! That rules.
My mom thought the boys of Pavement were shouting "I'M SHY!" in "Conduit For Sale". "They sure don't sound very shy," she said.

in 'Intergalactic' i always thought they said 'step to me and my rap profile' but they're actually saying 'step to me i'm a rappophile' - i don't believe rappophile is a real word

Belle and Sebastian 'La Pastie de la Bourgeoise':
I thought for a long time that a line in this song was 'but your friends are all serial rapists'. On closer listening, I discovered it is actually 'serious ravers'. I dont know how I managed to hear it so wrong.
