Uh, does anyone else find it a little weird that this issue contains a 2,000-word piece about a guy with a large penis ("Mr. Big")? He's not a porn actor or gigalo or anything -- he's a sorta miserable, unemployed, anti-social guy living anonymously somewhere with a very large member. And Rolling Stone wrote a substantial feature about him. There's no real angle to the story, it just goes from "Even when he was growing up, he knew it was big" to "Now, it's really, really big."
To me, that's weird.

haha so okay, I'm not trying to self-promote or anything--I'm just sharing something I think is kind of funny & unusual--but apparently the mainstream-ish hard-rock metal band I play bass for, called Killing Mistress, is opening for Mr. Big in August at Harpo's. I guess it's their only US tour date...
I'm nervous, bcz this is the first real band I've been in, and I've only played three live gigs so far, and we're expecting at least 2000 ppl there; this is going to be a huge gig, our biggest yet...

So this happened last night.
I did have a really good time, though lol @ '2000 ppl'; there was 200 ppl there, tops. They were VERY cock-rock, and quite aged-looking, though that probably comes as no surprise. They did come in w lots of energy though.
There were three opening acts; we went on first (it wz a ticket-selling thing). Only on for 25 minutes. Still we got lots of positive feedback. It was a great crowd. That was the best part for me: playing in Detroit.
We expected the whole middle-aged rocker-chick element to show up, and they did not disappoint, but I was kind of surprised at how many young Detroit hipsters were there, the kind of ppl I saw over at Ferndale last year, checking out the Electric Six and Outrageous Cherry and the Hard Lessons.

This thread actually started about an article in a music magazine about someone with a large penis.
Not sure but I think that somewhere in there is a metaphor for this board, really.

without clicking, I'll just assume Alfred's blog is about the sad guy with the large member
