James Blount (James Blount), Thursday, 29 May 2003 15:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Radford > pissing me off > not so much

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Thursday, 29 May 2003 15:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Lord Custos Epsilon (Lord Custos Epsilon), Thursday, 29 May 2003 16:06 (twenty-two years ago)

The Rapture > Gang of Four > APB

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 29 May 2003 16:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Is this the same APB I'm thinking of? Surprised anyone else has even heard of them/remembers them.

ArfArf, Thursday, 29 May 2003 16:18 (twenty-two years ago)

APB as in slightly geeky Scottish funkateers...their biggest single "Shoot You Down" ("ahhhh woood lyke ta shyoooot ye doooooon!")

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 29 May 2003 16:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Yep, same ones. As I say, astonished they're still remembered, especially in NYC though I do remember they did a mini-tour or something with James Brown that took in NY.

ArfArf, Thursday, 29 May 2003 16:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Richard Blackwood > Will Smith > Andi Peters

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 29 May 2003 16:34 (twenty-two years ago)

For some reason, "alternative/college rock/'new wave'" radio station W.L.I.R. (later re-monikered as W.D.R.E.) played an unhealthy amount of APB back in the mid to late 80s, which is probably the only reason I'm aware of them.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 29 May 2003 16:36 (twenty-two years ago)

what's wrong with APB?

hstencil, Thursday, 29 May 2003 16:43 (twenty-two years ago)

robin (robin), Thursday, 29 May 2003 18:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Marilyn Manson > GG Allin > Ronald McDonald

i really like it when Ronald McDonald drops his baggy pants, gives himself a McShake enema, points to his crotch and screams "eat my chicken mcnuggets, you little fucks!" as he throws his McShit at the frightened little rugrats ...

... ok, maybe not.

Tad (llamasfur), Thursday, 29 May 2003 18:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Indeed not, they love it, those little rascals!

Siegbran (eofor), Thursday, 29 May 2003 18:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, the clown playing Ronald McDonald at the last public appearance I saw did something just like that. But I think he shat in the shake and screamed "NOW SERVING McHOTDOGS" at the tykes before whipping out his syphillis-scabbed schwantzen.

FUK YOO INTERPOL IS BITCHIN'

Also, I cannot see how "The Strokes v2.0: The Search for Lynyrd Skynyrd's Gold" can even remotely be bad.

My turn:
Super Furry Animals > Beatles > Pink Floyd and ELO sitting around playing Boggle and watching Pokemon (which is clearly better)

Nate Patrin (Nate Patrin), Saturday, 31 May 2003 19:24 (twenty-two years ago)

The Streets > Ian Dury (alive) > Jehst (dead)

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Saturday, 31 May 2003 19:31 (twenty-two years ago)

actually, it was meant to be an unholy conglomeration of Ronald McDonald and GG Allin ... which is a hella lot more unholy than Ronald/Marilyn if you ask me!
