Songs that have Dances

Does anyone have suggestions of songs that have accompanying dance-steps? For example, The Twist, or Le Freak. I need songs that NYC DJs might actually have on hand, and whose dances at least a few people would know how to do.
This is for a bachelorette party, by the way!

Hoky Pokey
Chicken Dance
Achy Breaky
Macarena
Hustle
Electric Slide
Bristol Stomp (?)

.. That should illustrate what a great idea song/dances can be.

I would LOVE to be at a bachelorette party where the assembled tried to follow these classic dance-song instructions:

"First I limp to side like my leg was broken
Shakin' and twitchin' kinda like I was smokin'
Crazy wack funky
People say 'You look like MC Hammer on crack, Humpty!"

um . . . "The Cha Cha Slide"?

Bootsy - "Body Slam"

Don't know if there is one, but there oughta be a Milkshake dance.

briania (briania), Thursday, 27 May 2004 17:20 (twenty-two years ago)

the Oblivans have a "Milkshake" dance. And Bob Log III's "Clap Your Tits"

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Thursday, 27 May 2004 17:25 (twenty-two years ago)

"Jerk and Twine" by Jackie Ross (all-time fave!) has not just one but TWO dances! So if you don't know how to do both the jerk AND the twine, just sit ya ass on down.

rentboy (rentboy), Thursday, 27 May 2004 19:26 (twenty-two years ago)

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 27 May 2004 19:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Stones Throw are doing god's work

rentboy (rentboy), Thursday, 27 May 2004 19:30 (twenty-two years ago)

don't say that too loudly, there are some haters around here.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 27 May 2004 19:33 (twenty-two years ago)

of course there are. any label that makes "nullifies" all the cred-legwork done by collector types over years and years will surely face mucho hate.

:)

rentboy (rentboy), Thursday, 27 May 2004 19:36 (twenty-two years ago)

remove "makes" from that last post in order for it to make sense

rentboy (rentboy), Thursday, 27 May 2004 19:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I didn't mean from the collector types (most I know love Stone's Throw), but from most of the anti-undie types.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 27 May 2004 19:46 (twenty-two years ago)

ahhh. they don't count anyway :)

rentboy (rentboy), Thursday, 27 May 2004 19:53 (twenty-two years ago)
