Albums with one incongruous thrash/metal number

Half way through Mos Def's Black on Both Sides (a splendid rap album it has to be said), seemingly out of nowhere, loud guitars erupt into action and I'm listening to Anthrax or something. There it is again on Cibo Matto's (admittedly eclectic) Stereo Type A: a few tracks in and they come over all Boltthrower on me (just for one track mind). Does this happen on other albums too? Who do I blame for this? I like a loud guitar in it's place (like, say, on a Boltthrower album) but you know, this to me is a bit like having someone throw an alligator in the hot tub.

Cornelius, Point has one, too. The Mos Def one really gets on my nerves because its thesis is incredibly facile.

The last Roots album, in a fashion copped from the Beastie Boys, I believe. That Cibo Matto song is great - the mos def one, shite

"Pay to Cum" is pretty weird for a reggae album

the opening track to Good Charlotte's Young And The Hopeless sounds like Mercury Rev meets Metallica. No lie.

Dammit....JOhn beat me to it with the Cornelius track.

"London" on the Smiths' Louder than Bombs could work here.

Yo La Tengo's album "Electropura" is pretty much ruined by that noisy skronky song that comes out of nowhere in the middle. I can't remember what it is called, as I eventually got rid of the disc.

Yo La Tengo's album "Electropura"

Ah yes, "Attack on Love". Not their finest hour.

Sonic Youth's cover of "Nic Fit" on Dirty was a bit anomalous.
