Remember the Politcal Compass from earlier (on ILE I think?) Imagine if they had a Music Compass, to determine what your music taste actually consisted of! What would the axes be? (I propose as an example, n<>s = Rhythymic<>Melodic, e<>w = Confrontational<>Malleable, but it could be other things!) ANd what would be the questions to determine one's place on the Compass?

Too many variables, I think! You might, however, want to check out the AllMusic Guide, which puts seven or eight oppositional terms at the bottom of each entry so that you can rank these particular qualities.

But yeah, I'd say that any sort of art is going to be particularly hard to put into a manageable number of yin-yang axes, specifically because art -- especially an art like music which is constantly striving for new recombinations of qualities -- inevitably expands into whatever uncategorized areas are not yet filled. Which is to say: we could probably think up dozens of individual, reasonable axes to work with, but when mapped onto the actual musical world, I doubt any would seem like they were doing an adequate job of containing everything. Maybe best to just look at each aspect in isolation, and grope around that way?
