Splendid outfit. Like, I don't know, a punk rock Handsome Family perhaps. Most edifying to find out they're playing in my manor a week tomorrow... as a bonus the lady in the group is milf-tastic which never hurt anyone.

one year passes...
Ahoy there! Revive: Listening to the first CD as I type, and it still sounds pretty damn good. Follow ups weren't any too shoddy either, as I recall.

Regretting not seeeing them live in Glasgow and wondering if they fit into any US indie scene I'm not aware of.

I heard their debut when it came out, and haven't had much luck finding info on them. I love the record. Any news on them, have they done anything since ...your bloated corpse?

So good live, Christa Meyer's percussion is fantastic, beating on a single tom while using her feet to stamp out an accompianment on the floor.

I've got the Elena mini-LP with a positively demonic spoken-word cameo from Jon Langford as a fire and brimstone preacher

There's been another fine full-length "See you in hell" since "Elena"

Lacks the piratical "ARRRRR!"-Rated factor of the first, but to make up for it we have the standout "Chapayev's Machine Gunners" about a Bolshevic militia leader. So, equally eccentric all round.

I like both their albums a lot, for some reason I never know exactly where they are and therefore don't play them very often, but I'd love them a lot more if I did.

they're better when they pull the slow, creepy folk angle rather than the straight-up indie rock one.

I very much enjoyed their version of the Kinks' "Alcohol" on the b-side of some single.
