You leave me breathless
You take my breath away

SPK - Breathless

colin s barrow (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 4 June 2003 12:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Not 'Live and let die'.

If this ever-changing world
In which we're living...

Just in case that canard starts quacking. Pity that some of the misheard ones are the best. Thinking of misheard ones, and pity,

They call me Mr Pitiful
That's my name now
They call me Mr. Pitiful
That's how I got my name

--except it's "fame", not "name". Shame.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 4 June 2003 14:43 (twenty-two years ago)

ned: not as tautological as you might think, apparenty certain (japanese?) thought-systems conceptually locate the notion of 'the future' as *behind* oneself, obscured, while the past is open, revealed -> ahead.

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Wednesday, 4 June 2003 18:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Ooo, I'm really taken with this notion of walking backward through life, seeing only the past, trying to rig up mirrors to deduce where we're going. Unfortunately I don't think it can rescue that lyric, cause in that metaphor the future would be "behind" you but it would still be "ahead" -- i.e., where you're going.

nabisco (nabisco), Wednesday, 4 June 2003 19:08 (twenty-two years ago)

A hip
hop
a hip it to the hop it
and a hip hip hop and you don't stop
I said a bang bang boogie 'cause up jumps the boogie
to the rhythm of the boogie, the beat.

"The next thing I say to you will be true: The last thing I said was false."

It's not a paradox, it's a fallacy. In paradoxes the contradiction is only apparent, not real.
