put together by oren ambarchi, brendan "cassia fistula" walls, and alison wall it promises to be wildly entertaining even if you're not into the weird stuff. i've seen the pilot, trust me.

those outside our great land can check the webpage and weep.

gaz (gaz), Friday, 6 June 2003 01:01 (twenty-two years ago)

interesting! shame it's on so late..

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Friday, 6 June 2003 01:05 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, why commission it then stick it on there?

tape it jim

gaz (gaz), Friday, 6 June 2003 01:07 (twenty-two years ago)

ok

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Friday, 6 June 2003 01:09 (twenty-two years ago)

they've got some interesting people being shown... thanks for the heads up.

I guess with Oren involved it's not surprising to see Sue Harding, Joyce Hinterding, Phill Niblock, Scott Horscroft etc...

Curse Ov Dialect are an odd bunch... Caught them for the first time at Electrofringe last year, and I really wish the sound hadn't been so crap in that room, cause I don't think it did them justice.

Kind of hip-h(opera) or something...

This is going to be a treat for intense, bespectacled young men halfway through a course in communications who have yet to have had sex.

colin s barrow (colin s barrow), Friday, 6 June 2003 03:17 (twenty-two years ago)

you think this will be their chance to have sex colin?

gaz (gaz), Friday, 6 June 2003 03:30 (twenty-two years ago)

with themselves maybe

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Friday, 6 June 2003 03:32 (twenty-two years ago)

I think there are plenty of opportunities for intense you men and women halfway through their communications courses to meet, and, potentially, even have sex at such events. However, it rarely happens. This may be due to mutual shyness and a kind of defensive intellectual distancing that everyone affects so as not to give too much away and reveal their true vulnerabilities (many of them were probably caught masturbating at some stage in their psychosexual development). If the music had some butt funking, body jacking rhythms, that would certainly loosen everyone up a little. Instead, however, it wails or buzzes nervously, at once simulating and reinforcing the tense inner psychic worlds of these troubled virgins.

colin s barrow (colin s barrow), Friday, 6 June 2003 03:45 (twenty-two years ago)

i pity any of them that own a Whitehouse record

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Friday, 6 June 2003 03:48 (twenty-two years ago)

social inadequacy + taste in music of questionable moral content = ??

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Friday, 6 June 2003 03:49 (twenty-two years ago)

haha jim
and you have glasses too?

it wails or buzzes nervously

have you heard curs ov dialect? or sun ra for that matter colin?

gaz (gaz), Friday, 6 June 2003 03:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Gaz, to my jaded ears, even Merzbow sounds soothingly ambient.

And I know you have glasses. Hang on though, so do I.

colin s barrow (colin s barrow), Friday, 6 June 2003 03:53 (twenty-two years ago)

B-)

gaz (gaz), Friday, 6 June 2003 03:57 (twenty-two years ago)

me too

don't have much time for CovD but i know people who are obsessed with them

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Friday, 6 June 2003 03:57 (twenty-two years ago)

me neither, just pointing out they're more bootyquaking (or maybe boweldisturbing) than wailybuzzy.

gaz (gaz), Friday, 6 June 2003 04:01 (twenty-two years ago)

I liked the way Curse ov Dialect stuck bits of trees down all their clothing when I saw them....

just listened to some recorded stuff and yeah, it doesn't set me on fire... worth seeing them live at least once though.

dsp wanker (dsp wanker), Friday, 6 June 2003 09:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Just saw them again actually... not that I was planning to, but I decided to go to the Kid606 gig, and they were supporting.

They were much better than last time I saw them. the music was much better, I just wish the 'main' MC would stop showing his dick whenever he gets on stage...

pissed off I missed pimmon play... they stuck him on before the brisbane band which seemed dumb, esp when I didn't like them very much. pony something.

dsp wanker (dsp wanker), Friday, 6 June 2003 14:06 (twenty-two years ago)

It's a little known fact that the guy from Pimmon, apart from being a charming person, is also an announcer on a commercial am radio station, 2UW I think. Talk about surfing the polarities of music.

colin s barrow (colin s barrow), Saturday, 7 June 2003 02:32 (twenty-two years ago)

colin s barrow (colin s barrow), Saturday, 7 June 2003 08:15 (twenty-two years ago)

gaz (gaz), Saturday, 7 June 2003 08:20 (twenty-two years ago)

colin s barrow (colin s barrow), Saturday, 7 June 2003 08:30 (twenty-two years ago)
