I was prepared to think long and hard about my next taking sides questions, but this immediately came to mind...it seemed too good a battle to dismiss.

Paul Cox (paul cox), Friday, 6 June 2003 14:30 (twenty-two years ago)

unlike robbie williams, i actually want to hear andrew wk's music again

when it comes to mtv specials, i have a feeling they're about evenly matched

jess (dubplatestyle), Friday, 6 June 2003 14:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Justin vs. Robbie is the more logical showdown, I'd think.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 6 June 2003 14:37 (twenty-two years ago)

why?

jess (dubplatestyle), Friday, 6 June 2003 14:41 (twenty-two years ago)

andrew w.k. vs. a slow and painful death sounds more appropriate to me.

dyson (dyson), Friday, 6 June 2003 14:43 (twenty-two years ago)

why?

The two boy band survivors who want to be the arch-entertainers of their time while showing how goofy/human they still are. Oh that wacky Robbie and his ways. Oh that wacky Justin playing bass with the Flaming Lips. Etc.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 6 June 2003 14:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Robbie vs. _______ robbie loses.

Jrvision (visionjr), Friday, 6 June 2003 14:54 (twenty-two years ago)

andrew fuckin' WK. oh yeah.

Kingfish (Kingfish), Friday, 6 June 2003 15:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Wolf Eyes Rules.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 6 June 2003 16:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I like how Andrew WK's music sounds like the Dallas Cowboys offensive line doing beer-commercial singalongs to Nine Inch Nails songs (that is, an imaginary Nine Inch Nails were Trent Reznor is high on E. 24-7).

I like how Robbie Williams will never succeed in America.

Psh, peasy, I take the side of the smelly long-haired drunken buffoonasaurus rex.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 6 June 2003 16:28 (twenty-two years ago)

At least Robbie Williams realises he's a complete twat.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 6 June 2003 17:05 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd rather watch Robbie Williams get interviewed, but I'd rather go see an Andrew WK concert. And since this isn't I Love Witty Brits, I'm gonna give it to the partymeister.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Friday, 6 June 2003 17:10 (twenty-two years ago)

dyson, just to confirm for sure, am I right that your exposure to AWK consists of one viewing of the "Party Hard" video?

sundar subramanian (sundar), Friday, 6 June 2003 18:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Robbie vs. _______ robbie loses.

Pretty much. His new single is one of the most tedious things I have ever heard.

Andrew WK creeps me out for various reasons but at least he's not dull.

Nicole (Nicole), Friday, 6 June 2003 18:13 (twenty-two years ago)

dyson, just to confirm for sure, am I right that your exposure to AWK consists of one viewing of the "Party Hard" video?
i wish.

dyson (dyson), Friday, 6 June 2003 23:46 (twenty-two years ago)

when it comes to mtv specials, i have a feeling they're about evenly matched

Robbie Williams hijacks Jane Seymour's house for Cribs.

Andrew W.K. sticks a co-ed's deodorant down the front of his pants.

Yeah, it's a toss-up.

Paul Cox (paul cox), Friday, 6 June 2003 23:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Robbie vs. _______ robbie loses.

Robbie vs. Creed

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Saturday, 7 June 2003 00:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Creed loses.

Paul Cox (paul cox), Saturday, 7 June 2003 00:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Robbie's been known to be witty??

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Saturday, 7 June 2003 00:40 (twenty-two years ago)

andrew wk had one good song - party hard - the rest was dog food. robbie had "Angels" and "let me entertain you" at the start of his career, and has struggled to match these two top tunes. i thought his last single was ok, though. i'd rather see robbie live, too. i'm going to give it to mr.williams.

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Saturday, 7 June 2003 00:44 (twenty-two years ago)

We Want Fun. "Top tunes" indeed.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Saturday, 7 June 2003 00:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Robbie would win if he covered "Goin' Out West".

Adrian Langston (Adrian Langston), Saturday, 7 June 2003 03:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Erm... WK needs Robbie's songs. R needs WK's sound.

colin s barrow (colin s barrow), Saturday, 7 June 2003 08:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Andrew's a bit smarter. Robbie's a bit more Carson Daly.

maria b (maria b), Saturday, 7 June 2003 13:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Andrew's a bit smarter
arrruh¿

dyson (dyson), Saturday, 7 June 2003 17:00 (twenty-two years ago)

arrruh¿

He fooled you into believing he's dolt, didn't he?

Paul Cox (paul cox), Saturday, 7 June 2003 17:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Andrew WK vs infinitely prolonged orgasmic bliss would be a fairer match.

dyson: Oh, OK , sorry. My mistake.

sundar subramanian (sundar), Saturday, 7 June 2003 19:15 (twenty-two years ago)

"Infinitely prolonged orgasmic bliss" ... perhaps if I were an easily satisfied gay man. But, that goes for most lightweight-clever Brits right?

maria b (maria b), Saturday, 7 June 2003 21:33 (twenty-two years ago)

(It was more of a comment on AWK. I was taking Robbie Williams, who's never really registered one way or the other for me, out of the question altogether.)

sundar subramanian (sundar), Sunday, 8 June 2003 08:25 (twenty-two years ago)

You know what? I the midst of my vile hatred of Robbie Williams, I somehow transposed your "orgasmic" comment from AWK onto RW. Sorry. If I hear anyone say how supposedly "sexy" RW is again, I think I'm going to puke.

maria b (maria b), Sunday, 8 June 2003 13:07 (twenty-two years ago)

haha, phonecall from yr subconscious, maria b — do you want to take it?

mark s (mark s), Sunday, 8 June 2003 14:03 (twenty-two years ago)
