White Zombie, Psycho Head Blowout

one definite: Neil Young, American Stars 'n' Bars

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Monday, 9 June 2003 00:03 (twenty-two years ago)

When I was in college I was totally into prog so I sold my Alice Cooper Love It To Death and Killer LPs, and Mott the Hoople's All the Young Dudes because I started to think they weren't sophisticated enough, or something. But generally I hang onto things.

nickn (nickn), Monday, 9 June 2003 00:10 (twenty-two years ago)

This Heat - This Heat LP (found another 15 years later)

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Monday, 9 June 2003 02:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Bikini Kill 'Pussy Whipped', but I don't miss it too much.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Monday, 9 June 2003 02:57 (twenty-two years ago)

I kinda regret selling Public Enemy's "Yo! Bum rush the show"
But that's probably the only one, and I've sold/traded away quite a lot of albums.
But then, I've bought a lot of pure garbage over the years too.

Øystein Holm-Olsen (Øystein H-O), Monday, 9 June 2003 04:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Everything I've ever sold or given away I regret.

I'm a packrat beyond compare.

I love shiny things, special things, I want to keep them.

Damn.

David A. (Davant), Monday, 9 June 2003 04:47 (twenty-two years ago)

criminal minds - baptized by dub

gareth (gareth), Monday, 9 June 2003 06:12 (twenty-two years ago)

The only one I can think of is Mick Karn's first solo effort "Titles", and I only wish I still had it for the amusement value. It was a pretty bad album with horrible cover art. But I think it is probably also rather rare, so I'll be kicking myself if I find out its worth anything.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 9 June 2003 11:14 (twenty-two years ago)

couple spring to mind here. Drinking Gasoline double 12" by Cab Voltaire, and Groovy Laidback and Nasty (orig cd version) by CV again .. now the 12" ep is mostly available on other CV cd's but evenso .. and as for Groovy ..well the lp sux .. but amongst CV its worth far more than i ever realised. doh! also 23 Skidoo orig 1st minilp on vinyl .. arghhhhh .. oh well .. i have learnt now though .. nothing goes back - cept Peanut Butter Wolfs recent mix on badmeaninggood. but that could be another thread ..

mark e (mark e), Monday, 9 June 2003 11:59 (twenty-two years ago)

The Hanoi Rocks reissues on Guns N Roses' lable. They were all on pretty coloured vinyl, as well. :-(

kate (kate), Monday, 9 June 2003 12:06 (twenty-two years ago)

The Persevere 12" on Stones Throw.

scott m (mcd), Monday, 9 June 2003 12:20 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm still rebuying 80s records I dumped in the 90s. I guess I still had No New York, not that I'd play it. I'm sure a bunch of others.

Sean (Sean), Monday, 9 June 2003 14:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Purely from a monetary standpoint: Suicide Alley by the manics in original handmade press cuttings sleeve.

harveyw (harveyw), Monday, 9 June 2003 14:06 (twenty-two years ago)

For, like, £5 before they were famous. I simply couldn't bear having such a poor record in my collection.

harveyw (harveyw), Monday, 9 June 2003 14:07 (twenty-two years ago)

you did the right thing

gareth (gareth), Monday, 9 June 2003 14:24 (twenty-two years ago)

My entire ELO collection. When I was a teenager, I hated it. Now I get hankerings to hear Wild West Hero and mr Blue Sky!!!!! Ah, the cellos, the beards, that funny electronic voice thing that Air nicked

Kim Tortoise, Monday, 9 June 2003 15:07 (twenty-two years ago)

My local community radio station just held its annual fundraising garage sale and I donated about 2-300 CDs.
But even as I was carting them over there, I was flipping through them, making sure that I wasn't giving away something good. I even actually refrained from buying anything there, since one of my goals in this new year of my life is to reduce clutter.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Monday, 9 June 2003 15:22 (twenty-two years ago)

I did not sell this, but I BROKE it: GYGAX! by Pitchblende. Luckily, I had ripped it to MP3 before. Everything else I regret selling is pretty embarrassing.

Pitchblender (Pitchblender), Monday, 9 June 2003 21:44 (twenty-two years ago)

You mean gygax! gets his name from a Pitchblende record? I thought it was some sort of celebration of the guy who invented D & D.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 01:29 (twenty-two years ago)

please Ned. gygax! is, after all, Mr. Indie Guilt himself.

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 01:34 (twenty-two years ago)

If you say.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 01:45 (twenty-two years ago)

oddly enough I always associated gygax with an octopus. I have no idea why.

Sterling Clover (s_clover), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 02:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 10:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I traded Bundy Brown my copy of Nirvana's "Love Buzz" 7" for an early Mekons 7", just before Nevermind came out and I actually began to love the band. Oh well.
