Can anyone tell me what the people who created this record (from which the early 80's club hit Los Ninos De Parque was lifted) went on to do?

Beate Bartel was in the band Malaria! and did a record under the name Matador with Gudrun Gut.

Chrislo Haas was in Crime And The City Solution, did a record with Phew, and I think releases electronic dance stuff with Tresor under his own name these days.

liaisons dangereuses - chrislo haas, beate bartel and krishna goineau.
haas was in d.a.f up to and including die kleinen und die bosen (mute), beate bartel was in mania-d with members of malaria! (mania-d released one single to my knowledge). haas joined crime and the city solution. bartel did live sound for malaria! on tour, was in the band, matador, with gudrun gut and bettina koster from malaria!. matador released a few albums. also there is the chbb tapes (chbb being their initials) these are possibly being remastered for release on cd and are very good, from what i've heard of them. goineau apparently, though wether you believe it or not, found buddhism and abandoned music. also, bartel is working on something by die haut.

beate bartel was also in einsturzende neubauten and is credited on the patient o.t album as playing bass.

there is also the liaisons dangereuses video, released by ikon in the mid 80's which features footage from their uk tour and includes several tracks not on the album.

copies of the album, on vinyl, regularly fetch anything upto and beyond $100 on ebay. coincedentally, the album was re-issued on roadrunner in the early / mid 80's. one of conny plank's finest.

just discovered some mp3's on soulseek by velodrome which features krishna goineau on vocals. not got any info when it's from tho i'd say mid 80's ish. it's not bad with the track glassfabrik sounding like something off the liaisons dangereuses video.

Yes. Just got into these guys, though not explored that far yet. Love both D.A.F. and Malaria! so I guess it's not so surprising that I like this too.

('Not explored that far' I suppose = 'not managed to source the album yet'.)

found a copy of the 12" in a bargain bin a couple of weeks ago... my initial elation quickly turned to disappointment when I discovered it was warped to fuck :-(

Vendo Caramelos A Veces Sin Dinero (Capitaine Jay Vee), Saturday, 4 June 2011 15:37 (fourteen years ago)

yes, the full-length album is super. there is also some live recording from the hacienda, i think, that is worth listening to.

even though i've heard 'los niños...' approximately three million times, it still slays me. one of those amazingly durable tracks (along with, say, TG's 'hot on the heels of love') that still works in a DJ set, sandwiched between anything new and somewhat minimal

geeta, Saturday, 4 June 2011 15:51 (fourteen years ago)

video of the Hacienda set is on YT as well.

Top Comment on "Los Ninos Del Parque"

Man when Farley put this on at the Playground in Chicago everyone hit the floor! If you weren't on the floor you must have been in the bathroom taking a piss trying to get it to come out faster so you could get to the floor!
