Well Norman Cook has to be respected merely because its replacing one dud name (Quentin) with another. Cool though.... I guess Fatboy Slim has a certain ring to it.

I always liked Klaus Flouride from the Dead Kennedys. And while this is not quite the same thing (who isn't tired of "DJ ___"-type names?), there is something about Austria's DJ Smallcock and DJ Paedophile that gets a laugh out of me.

(eg that terrible Channel 4 series with some made- up "Scottish" band with "Hoots!!!" in their name or something!!! And I was most pleased when I played some "Fantasy Bands" type game with someone, and came up with the brilliant band name "Vigilante Shipbuilders"!!!!!)

i have a comp which had a song by brendan perry's early punk pand and his bass player was des truction, that was probably pretty cool but brendan was ronnie recent and he was not cool. sounded a lot like green day actually.

When I first read the question I thought you meant completely made up names (non-existant performers), and of those I like Giggly Gogol from Clockwork Orange. On the real person front, I gotta give props to the old schoolers - Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper, jello biafra.

I am personally very keen on two current trends in hip-hop. The first is for names which make the rapper out to be rubbish - i.e. Ludacris, Juvenile, with of course LL Cool J's proclaiming himself the GOAT being high on the list.

The second is for MCs to give themselves really serious names i.e. Black Thought, because, you know, he's black and he thinks about stuff quite a lot.

Tom..to think of hip hop you must think of satan and evil stuff...as we all know, it is the devil's music. So...black thought is an alias because he thinks about black stuff..evil stuff. fly?
