'Cop that Shit' new Timmy track feat the man himself on vocals along with the Mighty Missy and Magoo.

Why does he persist in giving Magoo airtime? he is a terrible terrible MC.

Cuz he makes Tim look like a good mc?

Magoo has had his moments. anyway, they're better together than Tim's solo album.

the thing that I raised an eyebrow at is that they're bringing in outside producers for a few tracks on the next Tim & Magoo album, including the Neptunes.

my theory is magoo has something bad that tim doesnt want the world to know about

An extended mix of "Here We Come" perhaps?

jess (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 11 June 2003 17:23 (twenty-two years ago)

has anyone heard the bubba sparx disc btw?

ss, Wednesday, 11 June 2003 17:24 (twenty-two years ago)

I heard this yesterday. It's the first time I've ever heard Missy do anything that sounded even slightly leaning in the direction of listenable; they way she played with the cadence of her voice bordered on interesting. The beat was k-cool. Magoo is Magoo.

Why is everyone so down on Tim's Bio? Some of the guest MCs are kinda weak, but all of the beats are great... and isn't that why we love Tim so much?

Anyway, I copped "Cop That Shit" and I like it.. Timbaland's verse is one of his best, but the beat wasn't anything new.. kind of boring compared to his other recent productions. That's not saying it's bad, but relatively.. nothing special. Missy and Magoo both held it down as usual, though Magoo sounds kind of odd.. his voice seems to be mixed differently on every track. This time it was thick and deep, where other times it seems somewhat tinny.

Anyone know when to expect the new Tim & Magoo album?

best thing tim's done all year is the joe boxer ad

missy is totally a better producer than tim this year

Chip Morningstar (bob), Wednesday, 11 June 2003 21:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I always figured Tim likes Magoo because his rapping leaves all the attention on the beats: he's just this pleasant place-holder that keeps something going on over the top but never gets in the way. Also I always figured Magoo was just a cool guy and Tim appreciated that enough not to stop returning his calls when he started getting big.

nabisco (nabisco), Wednesday, 11 June 2003 21:53 (twenty-two years ago)

I always had Magoo figured as Tim's answer to Method Man. They both sound kind of gruff, Ernest Borgninesque character rappers. Not exactly brilliant flow, but adding some welcome variety to the rap stable. Also, Magoo occasionally sounds like Tom Waits which is only a good thing.

Ouch! Doh, I was thinking of Petey Pablo. Somehow I get them mixed up. Don't listen to me, it's 2 AM and I should be in bed.

phil jones (interstar), Thursday, 12 June 2003 04:02 (twenty-two years ago)

I think Magoo is more comparable to Mr. Meph than Petey Pablo... though I think the comparison is reaching in either scenario

I really honestly thought you meant the neo-psych indie band from Norwich. And started to get all excited about the noisepop/hip-hop crossover. Lots of wibbling British indie bands would be vastly improved by Timbaland production!

kate (kate), Thursday, 12 June 2003 09:45 (twenty-two years ago)

a better question would be "the new joe budden song - why?" (or perhaps "lil' jon - why?!") every time i see a new rap video i get the feeling something is very, very over.

I got really excited when I read this. I think I'm gonna go write.

ten years pass...

What ever happened to Magoo?

This Is Not An ILX Username (LaMonte), Thursday, 20 June 2013 00:24 (twelve years ago)

he popped up on Shock Value (although that was, wow, 6 years ago), so i imagine him and Tim are still friends even if he's clearly not still trying to have a career or anything.

Certainly since Haydn & Dave, in any case
