yeah well. electropop. or just electronica.
cause. i'm going to see max tundra and printed circuit next sat at the spitz and i can't make my friends go. but. do i even have my genres lodged correctly into place? i think it's ace but my friends just hear the word "electronica" and smirk in my FACE.
who else is going? i need words of the persuasive kind. better adjectives, perhaps?

what are you asking, exactly? and I don't understand the title of this thread.

Anony-mouse (King Kobra), Thursday, 12 June 2003 14:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Some folks have called this emerging genre "lap-pop." I'm not sure that's going to win over friends who smirk at the very mention of electronic music, though.

I've heard lap-pop and glitch-pop. The former is a bit too snarky and the latter sounds more or less about right. I always run into trouble trying to describe Max Tundra, Schneider TM, and some stuff off the new Manitoba (for example) to friends.

I'm not really familiar with Printed Circuit except that they put out a record on the same label as my friend Jon. That last Max Tundra record was fantastic though, so whatever.

After hearing an mp3 off of Printed Circuit's website, I think I need to go record shopping.

Lynskey (Lynskey), Thursday, 12 June 2003 23:59 (twenty-two years ago)

trust me, it's in. hey if i like it it's gotta be good

mind you, no-one responded to my Fortdax thread the other day, so maybe it's out after all.

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Friday, 13 June 2003 00:02 (twenty-two years ago)

well i never heard fortdax jim. but if i like this stuff (and i think i do) the chances of it being in are minimal

gaz (gaz), Friday, 13 June 2003 00:04 (twenty-two years ago)

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Friday, 13 June 2003 00:09 (twenty-two years ago)

in then, it seems. I'll direct 'friends' towards ILM and say "look at this look look" and what have you. maybe towards electric sound of jim and the printed circuit website too.

Bella, Friday, 13 June 2003 03:08 (twenty-two years ago)

bronze age fox .. who includes minotaur shock top bloke dave edwards in their ranks .. stuff sounds like what is being described here.
so in that respect can i point you all to www.melodic.co.uk and www.bronzeagefox.com for various mp3's which may quench the thirst ..
than again i may be miles of the mark .. which wouldn't be the first time ..
onwards... m.e
