This sounds of utter worth.

This sounds lovely.

I picked up a DVD collection of Bjork's last few videos yesterday. The Vespertine videos are gorgeous, but watching Cunningham's "All Is Full Of Love" again made me really hanker for a collection of his videos.

they've been talking about this for over a year - nice to see an actual release date.

(I hope we get to see some of Gondry's earlier French stuff - I still haven't seen "Lucas With The Lid Off", etc).

(& haven't these people already released a Hype Williams DVD?)

Warp Films actually released their first DVD this past spring -- Chris Morris's "My Wrongs #8245-8249 & 117," a 15-minute short (which won a BAFTA award, as I recall). Haven't heard anything about upcoming releases, though.

That Chris Morris DVD is brilliant and pretty cheap too.
Get it.

Hype Williams videos are all style and no substance, tho the Missy and Busta ones are totally classic.

hopefully the Gondry one will not feature Bjork as you can get that elsewhere - his Lucas, Stardust, Oui Oui, Donald Fagen, Sinead O Connor and IAm videos all deserve inclusion.

music videos in style over substance shockah!

(did the White Stripes help raise Gondry's profile in the US or was it the other way around (sorta)?)

(& Jonze/Gondry/Cunningham have been around for a while - who are the up&comers? Shynola obv - who else?)

four months pass...
H5 (Antoine Bardou-Jacquet and Herve de Crecy - Etienne's brother) have created some of the best videos of the last 4 years too including SFA's 'Juxtaposed With U', Air's 'How Does It Make You Feel', Royksopp's 'Remind Me', Massive Attack's 'Special Cases' and Alex Gopher's 'The Child'. i think Herve is also the guy behind the Etienne De Crecy videos (Am I Wrong, Scratched) and those recent Fanta adverts with Stylophonic's 'Soul Reply' playing over the top.

i also rate Alex & Martin (Cassius, 'Seven Nation Army', Air's 'Radio#1')

and Tim Hope (One Giant Leap's 'For My Culture', Coldplay 'Don't Panic (US version)

Joel Lava (Roy Davis Jr's 'Rock Shock')

Plexu (Futureshock's 'Pride's paranoia', something by Plaid)

but yeh Shynola are still the absolute dons
